A South Korean court today awarded a rare jail term to a woman for secretly photographing a male nude model, in a case that sparked controversy over double standards. High-tech South Korea has been battling a growing epidemic of so-called "molka" or spycam videos, which largely involve men secretly filming women in schools, offices, trains, toilets, changing rooms and on the street. Spycam crimes reported to police surged from around 1,100 in 2010 to more than 6,500 last year, and many offenders share or sell photos and videos online. According to official statistics about 98 percent of offenders are men -- ranging from school teachers and college professors to church pastors and police officers -- while more than 80 percent of victims are women. The Supreme Court today sought response from the Centre on a plea seeking court-monitored CBI probe into the alleged suicide of B K Bansal, a Ministry of Corporate Affairs' official, and his family. A 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by two men in Sambhalhera village of the district, police said today. SHO Manoj Kumar Choudhary said the incident occurred yesterday under Miranpur Police Station area. She had gone out to buy some things when she was abducted by the two accused. They took her to a nearby area on a motorcycle and raped her, the SHO said. The girl reached home in the evening and narrated her ordeal to her family, he said. At least seven children of a family died when the car in which they were travelling fell into a ditch on the roadside in Panchmahal district.The incident took place on Sunday when the driver lost control of the car on Halol-Bodeli road near Bhat village in Jambughoda city. Ten members of the family were travelling in the car.After the car fell into the ditch, locals rushed to the spot and rescued three of the ten people in the car. However, they could not save seven children.Inspector AB Devdha said, "Ten people including seven children were present in the car when it fell in a drain in Panchmahal. Seven children have died. A Congress worker has filed a complaint with the police alleging that he was threatened by AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan at an event here. Police said they have registered a case and are probing the matter. Sayad Faizan accused Khan of threatening him on August 9. A 22-year-old woman was injured today after she was allegedly shot at by her husband in Dwarka's Mahavir Enclave, police said. The incident took place when the woman came to her mother's residence. She went to take water from the refrigerator when her husband shot at her and fled, a senior officer said. The woman sustained injuries in her lower back. However, she was declared fit for statement by the doctor, the officer said. In her statement to the police, the woman alleged that her husband was unemployed. He used to work as an ambulance driver in a hospital and was addicted to drugs. They shared bitter relationship as he used to demand money from her for drugs, police said. A 25-year-old man was arrested here tonight in connection with a clash that broke out between two groups at a village in Greater Noida and claimed one life, police said. Sumit (23) was killed in the clash at Bodaki village under the Dadri police station limits on August 9, they said. "Accused Sohit Kartar was arrested around 9 pm from Tilbata crossroad in Greater Noida," a police official said. Seven persons have been booked in the case, the official said, adding that raids were underway to arrest them. The Delhi Police has arrested two suspected members of a robbers' gang which had allegedly assaulted a property dealer and his family during a heist of Rs 84 lakh in cash and jewellery on August 8. The police said they have recovered Rs 9.15 lakh and a loaded pistol from the accused. "Southwest Delhi-residents Vaibhav Srivastav (26) and Lalit Mishra (20) were arrested when they were riding a stolen motorcycle on NajafgarhUttam Nagar road last night," the police said in a statement. The accused were part of the six-member gang which had barged into the house of a southwest Delhi real estate dealer and robbed them. The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad arrested today two persons and seized 5 kilograms of heroin, reportedly worth Rs 15 crore in the international market, which the agency believes was smuggled from Pakistan by sea. The seizure was made in Salaya in Gujarat's Devbhoomi Dwarka district, about 450 km from here, and it indicated a nexus of terror organisations in its smuggling, the ATS said in a release. "On the basis of a specific information, the Gujarat ATS has arrested a person named Aziz Abdul Bhagad from Salaya, Devbhoomi Dwarka. He was found in possession of 5 kg of pure heroin, worth Rs 15 crore in the international market," it said. The heroin was brought to Salaya in conspiracy with two more persons from Mandvi, one of whom, identified as Arif Adam Sumra, was arrested, the ATS said.
