Police are looking into allegations of misbehaviour against ruling TRS MP D Srinivas' son Sanjay by some women students of a nursing institute in the district headquarters town of Nizamabad, for which he is the Correspondent. Police said they are speaking to the alleged victims and would act as per the law. Sanjay was not immediately available for comments. Srinivas, who had served as president of Congress' state unit and also as minister in undivided Andhra Pradesh, had joined the ruling TRS after the formation of Telangana. He has since become a member of the Rajya Sabha.
Pakistan's first Sikh police officer has been sacked from service for being absent from office for over three months, a traffic police spokesperson said today. Gulab Singh, 35, has been dismissed from work for staying absent from office for over three months, traffic police spokesperson Ali Nawaz told PTI today. "Superintendent Police Traffic Asif Sadiq after an inquiry against Gulab Singh for staying absent from office over three months has dismissed him from service. He could not defend himself before an inquiry committee," Nawaz said. He said Singh can file an appeal in the office of the deputy inspector general traffic police against his dismissal. In a big relief to Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Mohua Moitra, the Central government on Friday submitted to the Supreme Court that it had withdrawn its proposal of making a social media hub and monitor the social media.The Attorney General (AG), KK Venugopal, top law officer representing the Central Government, told the three-judge bench of the Apex Court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra that no monitoring of social media will be done anywhere in the country.After the AG submitted to the Apex Court that the Central Government had withdrawn the proposal of making a social media hub and to monitor it, the top court disposed off the petition filed by Mohua Moitra.Moitra had challenged before the Supreme Court the decision of the Central Government to monitor social media content at the district level.The Apex court three-judge bench, headed by CJI Misra, and also comprising Justices A. Prosecutors said that the 29-year-old Russian national, identified only as Yusup B. because of German privacy rules, was arrested Thursday as he arrived from South America. They said in a statement Friday that authorities in Berlin and the surrounding state of Brandenburg are investigating him on suspicion of supporting a terrorist organization. He is suspected of transferring money to suspects in Syria to finance training and weapons procurement for IS. Police say a Chinese missionary who had just arrived in Kansas City this week was shot to death for no apparent reason by an 18-year-old who went on a shooting spree while high on drugs. The Kansas City Star reports the victim, Xindong Hao, was shot Wednesday while taking a walk. Prosecutors charged Curtail Hudson yesterday with second-degree murder. Court documents indicate investigators believe Hudson was high on PCP when he started shooting at people in a south Kansas City neighborhood where Hao happened to be walking. Hao brought his wife and four children to Kansas City to join fellow missionaries at the International House of Prayer. Hudson was also charged with four counts of armed criminal action, two counts of first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

A three-year boy was rescued from the clutches of a leopardess by his mother and grandmother at Pimpalgaon Ketaki village in Dindori taluka in the district, police said today. The incident took place last evening, they said. "The child was playing in an agriculture field in the village when a leopardess came from nowhere and picked him up in her mouth. Hearing the cries of the boy, his mother and grandmother rushed to his rescue and fought with the feline," a police officer from Dindori said. Soon, other villagers came to the spot and the big cat left the child there before disappearing into the woods, he said. The boy suffered injuries in the incident and was taken to Nashik Civil Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
The National Green Tribunal has taken note of polluting industrial units operating in residential areas of Shastri Nagar here and asked the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to take action against all such entities operating without consent. A bench headed by NGT chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel said there was material on record which "prima facie" indicates violation of law which needs to be looked into by the DPCC and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC). The green panel noted that various units like bakeries, welding shops and slaughter houses were functioning in residential areas without proper permission. "The DPCC may look into the questions whether the illegal activities pointed out by the applicant require any consent to operate and whether such consent has been obtained. "It may also be examined as to which category the activities fall as per the categorisation and siting policy published by the DPCC in terms of the latest guidelines on the subject issued .

Three people were arrested today in connection with alleged adulteration of groundnuts procured by the Central agency NAFED in Rajkot district of Gujarat, a police official said. The opposition Congress has alleged large-scale corruption in procurement of groundnuts in the state and demanded a judicial probe into the matter. Nearly 30,000 sacks of groundnut (each weighing 35kg) were found mixed with sand and stones four days back. They were kept at a private godown taken on rent by the National Agriculture Co-operative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) in Pedhla town under Jetpur taluka of Rajkot district. The NAFED had purchased the groundnuts from farmers under the minimum support price (MSP) scheme. An FIR was lodged in this connection on a complaint by the NAFED and the police had detained nearly half a dozen people for questioning a couple of days ago. "On the basis of the FIR, we arrested three persons, who were found to be involved in the scam," Jetpur Deputy .

A Class 10 girl was found dead in the hostel of a government-run residential school at Sikhapali in Odisha's Malkangiri district, police said today. The body of Bandana Sardar, aged around 15 years, was spotted with cut injury on her left wrist in the computer room of the hostel last night, Inspector In-Charge of Malkangiri police station S S Tripathi said. The matter came to light after the students went to their respective rooms after dinner yesterday and noticed that Bandana was missing, he said adding she was found in a pool of blood in the computer room following a search. The Supreme Court today asked the attorney general to frame "holistic" guidelines for its perusal and approval on video recording and live streaming of court proceedings. A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra also asked the parties - including senior advocate Indira Jaising, who has filed the PIL seeking video recording of proceedings in important constitutional matters - to provide their suggestions to AG K K Venugopal. The bench, comprising justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud, said the top law officer would collate the suggestions and prepare holistic guidelines for perusal and approval of the court. Venugopal said the guidelines would be also sent to the government for its perusal and inputs. For this, he sought two weeks time from the court.
