A Jodhpur court on Monday acquitted actor Salman Khan in a case related to submitting a false affidavit in court.
Thai police said they have arrested an Italian man wanted in his home country after he fled a jail sentence handed down for fraudulently using the name of actor George Clooney to lure people into investing in a bogus clothing company. Thailand's Crime Suppression Division said in a statement that Francesco Galdeli, 58, was arrested Saturday near the city of Pattaya on suspicion of staying in the country illegally. Also arrested was Vanja Goffi, 45, on suspicion of overstaying her visa. Interpol notice had been issued for Galdeli and he was arrested at an address provided by Italian authorities, Thai authorities said in their statement Sunday. It was not immediately clear if the two had a lawyer. Galdeli was sentenced by a Milan court in 2010 to more than eight years in jail after he was found guilty of impersonating Clooney to trick investors, police said. Galdeli had lived in Thailand for around seven years, police said.

Authorities in Philadelphia say one person has been killed and at least seven others have been shot during a graduation party. KYW-TV reports the shooting occurred Sunday shortly before 10:30 pm near South 70th Street and Reed Bird Place. Authorities say four teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 suffered gunshot wounds to their legs. Four adults in their 20s were shot in various parts of their body. Law enforcement officials have not identified the dead person. Authorities have not provided a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made in the shooting.

One person was killed and several others sustained injuries after a gunman open fired at a graduation party in Southwest Philadelphia on Sunday (local time).According to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross, four of the victims were teenagers between the age of 15 to 17, who suffered gunshot wounds to their legs.The remaining victims, all in their twenties, suffered wounds to different parts of their bodies, one of which succumbed to injuries soon after being shot, reported CNN.Around 60 people were at the party when the shots rang out, Ross added.The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.Police are searching for the suspect and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.Further details are awaited.

A 22-year-old man was killed allegedly in a celebratory firing at his cousin's wedding in Uttar Pradesh, police said Monday. The incident took place on Sunday night at Chitha Purva village which comes under the jurisdiction of Marka police station. The man, identified as Chotu Singh, died after being hit by a bullet fired allegedly from Baldau's gun, his other cousin, said police station in-charge Zakir Hussain. In September 2018, ICICI Bank had filed a petition before the Allahabad bench of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) seeking to start insolvency proceedings of JAL, which is into infrastructure and real estate. In its plea before the appellate tribunal, ICICI Bank submitted that there has been no progress in its petition filed before the NCLT Allahabad in last nine months. Charred body of a 35-year-old Dalit farmer was found from a field in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district, police said Monday. The incident happened in Bela Rampur village in Patti area of the district, officials said, adding that the man, Vinay Saroj, was killed and then his body was set on fire. The body has been sent for postmortem and further investigations are underway, they said. No arrests have so far been made in the case.

A man has been arrested for abducting his eight-month-old nephew in Muzaffarnagar district, police said Monday. Sachin, the uncle, and his friend Sonu have been arrested for abducting the toddler a few days ago. The child was rescued on Sunday.
