Cops thrash auto driver after accident, suspended

Three cops were suspended for allegedly thrashing two men after their auto bumped into a police vehicle in Mukherjee Nagar area of New Delhi on Sunday.Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest Delhi) Vijyanta Arya suspended Assistant Sub-inspector Sanjay Malik and Devendra and constable Pushpendra in connection with the case.It is alleged that the policemen dragged the driver and his son, belonging to the Sikh community, out of their auto and thrashed them for "no reason".However, the police have blamed the auto driver for the incident saying that he attacked a police officer with a sword and injured another with the vehicle."The alleged incident was followed by an accident caused by a Gramin Sewa tempo to a police vehicle. Four members of Indian-origin family shot dead in US

Four members of a family with Indian origin, including two teenagers, were shot dead inside their home in West Des Moines, United States.The incident took place on Saturday morning. The deceased were identified as Chandrasekhar Sunkara, 44; Lavanya Sunkara, 41; and two boys, ages 15 and 10, reported CNN.The police have found multiple gunshots on the victim bodies.The matter came into light after the guests who were staying in the victims' residence saw the bodies and informed the local authorities."We are continuing to work through this investigation. We will follow through until we have answered as many questions as the evidence allows," said Sergeant Dan Wade with the West Des Moines Police Department.A motive behind the killings remains unclear. Body of missing minor girl found in Narela

The body of a minor girl, who had gone missing two days ago, was found near her house in Outer-North Delhi's Narela on Sunday, police said. The girl had gone missing on Friday, they said. A search was initiated but the girl could not be traced till Saturday. She was found dead in the area behind her house on Sunday evening, a senior police officer said. The body was sent for post-mortem, police said, adding that it did not carry any external injury marks. Police have ruled out the possibility of sexual assault but said that the medical examination report is being awaited to confirm anything in this regard.

Delhi Police finds girlfriend guilty of throwing chemical on victim in Vikaspuri

The Delhi Police have solved the chemical attack case and found that the victim's girlfriend was the one who threw chemical on his face on June 11 in Vikaspuri area of the national capital."Police received the information from DDU Hospital in Police Station in Vikas Puri, that a 24-year-old man has been admitted with burns on his right side face, neck and chest. 2 held for forging govt documents

Two persons were arrested here on Sunday for allegedly preparing fake government documents of various officers and issuing to the people, officials said. A police team intercepted a vehicle with bovines at the Sidhra bridge. They arrested Zahoor Ahmed and registered a case for bovine smuggling, the police said. The accused produced a permission issued by the Jammu deputy commissioner regarding transportation of bovines. The permission was scrutinised and it turned out to be fake, the police said. Based on Ahmed's disclosures, a person named Bipin Singh was immediately apprehended. Singh revealed that he used to make fake registration certificates, driving licenses, insurance certificates, route permits from a person named Vikram Seth, the police said. Three held for robbing man in Delhi

Three alleged members of the Gala Ghotu Gang were arrested on charges of robbery in the national capital, police said Sunday. The accused have been identified as Vakeel (32), a resident of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh, Parvesh (26), a resident of Sonia Vihar here and Mithlesh (22), a native of Bihar, they said. A policeman on patrolling duty near Lady Harding Medical College here on Saturday around 9.30 pm found a man shouting for help, they said. "The man approached the officer and told him he was going to visit his ailing relative at Kalawati Hospital. When he reached Panchkuia Road, two persons got down from an auto rickshaw and robbed him of his mobile after choking him. Woman held in Delhi for hurling 'chemical substance' on boyfriend

A 19-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly hurling a "chemical substance' on her boyfriend in Vikaspuri area of West Delhi after he wanted to get out of their three-year-old relationship, police said Sunday. Police said they were informed by the DDU hospital on Tuesday that the woman and her boyfriend were attacked by some unidentified persons with some "chemical substance". The alleged attack occurred when the man was on a scooter with his girlfriend riding pillion. The man had burns on the right side of his face, neck and chest, while the woman had sustained minor burn injuries, police said. Man kills wife on suspicion of her character, held

A25-year-oldman has been arrested from Bhiwnadi in Maharashtra for allegedly killing his 22-year-old wife on suspicion of her fidelity Sunday, police said. According to police, the accused Sabealam Abdul Gafar Ansari stabbed Nazia during a heated exchange at their house earlier in the day. The accused also attacked the mother of the deceased when she went to check on her, police said, adding that Nazia was taken to hospital where she was declared brought dead. Nazia sustained at least six grievous injuries in the attack, a police official said. Man held for Fb post on Tripura CM remanded in police custody for 2 days

A man who had been arrested for allegedly posting "fake news" on Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb's personal life was Sunday remanded in police custody for two days on charges of forging documents. Anupam Paul, who had been on the run since April 26, was arrested by the crime branch of Tripura Police from New Delhi on Wednesday. The police had registered an FIR against Paul for forgery, cheating and conspiracy after the April 25 Facebook post went viral on social media. He was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Sharmistha Mukherjee on Sunday who remanded him in police custody for two days. Police Sunday recorded the statement of the mother of a woman police constable who was hacked and burnt to death allegedly by a policeman in broad day light here. She later claimed the assailant, undergoing treatment for burns suffered in the attack Saturday, had been insisting her daughter to marry him though she was already married and had three children. Debt-ridden Guj businessman held for printing fake notes

A Rajkot resident was Saturday arrested in a raid by personnel of the Gujarat police's Special Operations Group at his house for allegedly printing currency notes, an official said. Sixty fake currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 denominations, having a face value of Rs 75,000, were seized in the raid near the Laxman Jhoola Park area in Rajkot, he said. "Akbari is the co-owner of a factory in Jetpur which closed down recently and he was facing financial troubles. He was using a printer to create fake currency notes to pay off debts," said the official. He has been arrested under section 489 (counterfeiting currency notes) of the Indian Penal Code.

Man beaten to death in Delhi's Prem Nagar

A 23-year-old man was beaten to death in Rohini's Prem Nagar area, police said Sunday. Police around 7 pm on Saturday received information that a thief has been caught at the Main Mubarak Pur Road in Prem Nagar and a team was sent to the spot, a senior police officer said. It was found that a man was lying unconscious on the ground and there were injury marks on his body, police said, adding that he was taken to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where he was declared brought dead. 8 of family on way to Agra killed in road accident on Yamuna Expressway

Eight members of a family were killed on their way from Greater Noida to Agra after their car rammed into a truck on Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district on Sunday, police said. The incident happened around 9 am in the Baldeo police station area, about 30 km from Mathura city. They were going to Agra when their car rammed into a truck moving ahead of it, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Kumar Shukla said. Five persons of the family, who were from Jewar in Gautam Budh Nagar district, died at the spot, while three others succumbed to injuries at a hospital, the officer said. Police said the car was completely mangled and they had to use gas cutters to bring out the bodies .
