Cyber criminals use PAN details of M S Dhoni, Abhishek Bachchan for fraud

In a bizarre case of cyber fraud, a group of fraudsters allegedly procured PAN details of several Bollywood actors and cricketers from their GST Identification Numbers which are available online, and got credit cards issued in their names from Pune-based fintech startup 'One Card'. Some of the celebrities whose names and details were used by the fraudsters are Abhishek Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Emraan Hashmi and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Shahadra Rohit Meena said. "Since investigation into the matter is underway, we cannot comment further on it," Meena told PTI. The company got wind of the fraud subsequently but not before the fraudsters used some of these cards to purchase products worth Rs 21.32 lakh. It immediately alerted the Delhi Police which swung into action and arrested five of them. The five accused, identified as Puneet, Mohd Asif, Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Mishar and Vishwa Bhaskar Sharma, acted in close coordination to defraud

Delhi Commission For Women chief Swati Maliwal on Wednesday asked police to file an FIR in connection with the "lewd" comments on social media against the daughters of cricketers M S Dhoni and Virat Kohli. "Some accounts are posting pictures of the daughters of two senior players of the country, Virat Kohli and (M S) Dhoni, on Twitter and making lewd comments. Disgusting comments about two-year-old and seven-year-old girls. If you don't like a player, will you abuse his daughter? Issuing notice to police to register FIR," she said in a tweet in Hindi. Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has picked up equity in the plant protein startup Shaka Harry', the company said on Tuesday. The startup, which has created plant-based mock-meat, said it has received USD 2 million in a seed funding round led by Better Bite Venture, Blue Horizon and Panthera Peak Ventures. The company has other investors like chef Manu Chandra. Speaking about the partnership, Dhoni told reporters that he loves chicken but now he is after a balanced diet. It is much easier with products from Shaka Harry, which has a wide range that delivers a healthier experience to that of traditional meat dishes, he said. Shaka Harry co-founder Anand Nagarajan said the company is serving over 30,000 customers across 10 cities monthly and expects to triple this number in the next few months. Another co-founder Hemalatha Srinivasan said the company is presently offering packaged product. She did not rule out the possibility of a food chain in the coming years.
