As the ongoing winter session of the Parliament reaches its final week, the Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary Party meeting will be held today at Ambedkar International Centre, Delhi.In its notice, the BJP Parliamentary Party has requested the attendance of all BJP members of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha."A meeting of BJP Parliamentary Party will be held at 9.15 am on Tuesday, the 21st December 2021 in the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, 15 Janpath (Near Hotel Le Meridian), New Delhi," its notice read.The winter session of Parliament is scheduled to culminate on December 23.

Lok Sabha refers Biological Diversity Bill to Joint Committee of Parliament

The Lok Sabha on Monday referred the Biological Diversity Bill to a Joint Committee of both houses of Parliament. Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav moved the motion to refer the Bill to the Joint Committee with 21 members of the Lok Sabha and 10 members from the Rajya Sabha. The Committee is expected to submit its report to the House by the last day of the first week of the next session. The Committee will comprise Lok Sabha members Sanjay Jaiswal, Diya Kumari, Heena Gavit, Aparajita Sarangi, Raju Bista, Pallab Lochan Das, Santosh Pandey, Prathap Simha, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Brijendra Singh, Ajay Tamta, Jagdambika Pal (all BJP), Gaurav Gogoi, S Jothimani (both Congress), A Raja (DMK), Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar (Trinamool), Sridhar Kotagiri (YSRCP), Prataprao Jadhav (Shiv Sena), Sunil Kumar Pintu (JD-U), Achyutananda Samanta (BJD) and Ritesh Pandey (BSP). Union govt refers two Bills to parliamentary panels for scrutiny

Government on Monday referred two bills for scrutiny by parliamentary panels amid the Opposition's allegations of inadequate consultations in the law-making process. The Biological Diversity (Amendment) Bill and the Mediation Bill were referred to a Joint Committee and the Standing Committee on Law & Justice respectively.
