PepsiCo India to invest Rs 1,266 crore to set up flavour facility in MP

PepsiCo India on Tuesday said it will invest Rs 1,266 crore to set up a flavour manufacturing facility at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh as part of its expansion plans in the country. The plant spread over 22 acres, will play a significant role in scaling up PepsiCo's beverage production in India, generating employment and positively impacting the local economy, the company said in a statement. The construction of the upcoming plant is slated to start in 2024 and is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2026, it added. "With support from the government of Madhya Pradesh, we aim to strengthen our footprint while driving impactful progress in enhancing the socio-economic landscape of the region," PepsiCo India & South Asia CEO Jagrut Kotecha said. Varun Beverages to expand capacities of juices, value-added dairy items

Varun Beverages, leading bottler of beverage major PepsiCo, is expanding its production capacities in the juices and value-added dairy products segments in 2024, according to the latest annual report of the company. Besides, Varun Beverages Ltd (VBL) is strengthening its distribution network and chilling infrastructure, which is essential to enhance presence in the existing and under-penetrated markets, its promoter & Non-Executive Chairman Ravi Jaipuria told shareholders. "Central to our expansion strategy for CY 2024 is the further development of manufacturing facilities, with a focus on adapting to evolving consumer preferences and market trends. We are particularly concentrating on increasing our production capacities in the juices and value-added dairy products segments," he said. The company operates across six countries. PepsiCo rolls out new globe logo in India as part of rebranding exercise

Global beverages major Pepsi on Friday rolled out its new logo worldwide as part of its rebranding exercise. This is the first visual identity change by Pepsi in the last 14 years, according to a statement by the American beverage major. As part of this, the new Pepsi globe logo was unleashed at Gateway of India in Mumbai, where it took over the monument with a digital artwork, it added. "The new logo thoughtfully borrows equity from Pepsi's past, whilst incorporating modern elements to create a look that is unapologetically current and undeniably Pepsi. The updated colour palette introduces electric blue and black to bring a contemporary edge to the classic Pepsi colour scheme," it said. The signature Pepsi pulse evokes the "ripple, pop and fizz" of Pepsi-Cola moving in time, it said. Nagal gets support from DLTA, PepsiCo after speaking about financial crunch

Soon after Sumit Nagal shared his financial struggle in an interview with the PTI, support began to pour in for India's top tennis player with leading beverage company PepsiCo India and the DLTA rushing to his aid. The Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) has decided to release a one-time support of Rs 5 lakh while PepsiCo has also pledged to support Nagal for three years. PepsiCo India reports multi-fold rise of Rs 268 cr in FY23 profit

Food and beverages major Pepsico India Holdings Pvt Ltd reported a multi-fold rise in consolidated profit at Rs 267.80 crore in 2022-23 fiscal, according to financial data accessed by business intelligence platform Tofler. The company's revenue from sale of products and services was up 28.47 per cent to Rs 8,127.07 crore during the year, it said. The company -- which is not a listed entity -- had reported a profit of Rs 41.63 crore and sales worth Rs 6,325.70 crore in 2021-22. Pepsico India Holdings Pvt Ltd's other income increased 20 per cent to Rs 98.83 crore in 2022-23 (FY23). The total revenue of the company, which owns popular brands such as Pepsi, Lay's, Kurkure, and Tropicana, rose 28.35 per cent to Rs 8,302.02 crore in FY23. PepsiCo entered India in 1989 and has grown to become one of the largest food and beverage businesses in the country. Its revenue from the "beverages" segment was up 86.19 per cent to Rs 1,404.46 crore in FY23 while the same from the "snacks" segment

PepsiCo to invest $400,000 for expansion of safe water access in UP

The PepsiCo Foundation on Monday said it will invest USD 4,00,000 in partnership with Pandit Jagat Ram Memorial FORCE Trust to expand its safe water access and sustainable sanitation programme in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is aligned with the three priority campaigns of the central government: the Jal Jeevan Mission, Jal Shakti Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission, the Foundation said in a statement. As part of this programme, the PepsiCo Foundation will help provide improved access to fresh water for drinking and domestic purposes, impacting more than 20,000 people and 3,000 children across 13 villages in Mathura district over a period of three years. The partnership will also create WASH awareness (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) focusing on sanitation, solid waste management, and hygiene practices with water quality, safety and personal health behaviours impacting 50,000 people and 3,000 children.
