Gehlot maintains suspense over chief ministership in Rajasthan

Congress party maintained suspense over the chief ministership in Rajasthan amidst indications that the party could be in the position to form government in the state."The party president will decide on who will be the chief minister," senior party leader Ashok Gehlot said on Tuesday.The BJP office in Jaipur wore a deserted look as latest trends painted a dismal picture for the ruling party. Figures showed opposition Congress leading on 91 seats, while the BJP lagged far behind on 79.Independents led on 14 seats, while others were ahead on five, according to the official trends. 200 seats are up for grabs in the Rajasthan Assembly.Among the prominent contestants, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was leading by 13,440 votes in Jhalrapatan constituency, Congress' Pilot was leading by 9748 votes in Tonk constituency and Ashok Gehlot was leading by 5,112 votes in Sardarpura constituency.Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria was trailing by 3897 votes in Udaipur.

Close fight in Madhya Pradesh; Cong leads in 110, BJP in 108

The BJP and the Congress are in a close fight in Madhya Pradesh as trends in 226 out of the total 230 Assembly seats showed the opposition party having a slight edge over the ruling faction. The Congress was leading in 110 seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ahead in 108 constituencies. Besides, Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was leading in four seats, while the Samajwadi Party was ahead in one. Independents were also leading in two seats in the central Indian state. The BJP under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan is seeking a fourth term in office while the Congress is making a determined bid to unseat him. The 2013 state Assembly's partywise position was :- BJP-165, Congress-58, BSP-4 and Independents-3.

Five ministers in the Raman Singh-led BJP government in Chhattisgarh were trailing in the Assembly polls as per latest trends, a poll official said Tuesday. The five Brijmohan Agrawal (Raipur City South), Kedar Kashyap (Narayanpur constituency), Mahesh Gagda (Bijapur), Dayaldas Baghel (Nawagarh) and Amar Agrawal (Bilaspur) - are trailing, as per trends in the state Assembly polls. Madhya Pradesh polls: Cong ahead in 112 seats, BJP in 102

The Congress is leading in 112 seats and the BJP in 102 seats after second round of counting in the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is leading in Budhni constituency after the second round of counting, an election official said. "The Congress is leading in 112 seats, while the BJP is ahead in 102 constituencies after completion of the first and second rounds of counting," MP chief electoral officer (CEO) V L Kantha Rao told reporters. The counting began at 8 am. As many as 2,907 candidates were in fray for the November 28 Assembly polls as Chouhan of the BJP is attempting a fourth term in office, while challenger Congress expects to return to power after a 15-year gap. In 2013, the BJP had won 165 seats and the Congress bagged 58 seats. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had won four seats while three seats were bagged by Independents.
