NIA files chargesheet against key accused in Chandigarh grenade attack case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted a key accused in the Chandigarh Sector 10 grenade attack case, masterminded by foreign-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorists, an official statement issued on Saturday said. Abhijot Singh alias Babba alias Gopi, a Punjab resident who was arrested in April this year for his involvement in the attack, has been charged in the supplementary chargesheet filed before a special NIA court in Chandigarh on Friday, it said. The attack, which targeted a retired Punjab Police officer, was part of a conspiracy to spread fear in the society, said the statement issued by the probe agency. The conspiracy was orchestrated by Pakistan-based BKI terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda, in collusion with US-based gangster Happy Passia, it said. Babbar Khalsa terrorist Parminder Pindi extradited from UAE to India

A Babbar Khalsa International terrorist, involved in multiple heinous crimes, has been extradited from the UAE, said a top Punjab Police officer on Saturday. Parminder Singh alias Pindi, a close aide of foreign-based terrorists Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and Happy Passia, has been brought from Abu Dhabi in the UAE in close coordination with the central agencies, said Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav. Yadav said Pindi was involved in multiple heinous crimes, including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults and extortions in Batala in Gurdaspur. In a post on X, Yadav said acting swiftly on a red corner notice (RCN) requested by the Batala police, a dedicated four-member team led by a senior police officer travelled to the UAE on September 24, coordinated with the Ministry of External Affairs and the UAE authorities. After completing all legal formalities, the police team successfully brought the accused back to face justice, said Yadav.

NIA searches multiple locations linked with Khalistani terrorist Goldy Brar

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday searched multiple locations, linked with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The premises belonging to suspects and accused associated with Canada-based terrorist Brar and US-based gangster Randeep Malik were searched in connection with the agency's probe in the December 2024 grenade attacks at Warehouse Club and Human Club at Sector-29 in Gurugram. "Several electronic and other incriminating materials were recovered during the searches conducted at eight locations in various districts of the two states this morning," a statement issued by the NIA said. 7 aides of Amritpal Singh remanded to 4-day police custody by Punjab court

Radical preacher Amritpal Singh's seven associates were on Friday produced before a court here in connection with the attack on the Ajnala police station in 2023 and remanded to police custody till March 25. The seven were released from the Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam and re-arrested in another case by the Punjab Police. All seven detainees were produced before the court in Ajnala here under tight security and sent to four-day police remand, officials said. Police here sought the remand on various grounds, including to recover some mobile phones and weapons, and to conduct further investigations.
