Realty firm Unitech Ltd on Thursday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 1,206 crore in the first quarter of FY25. The company had posted a net loss of Rs 702.97 crore in the year-ago period. Total income declined to Rs 84.04 crore in the April-June quarter of this fiscal from Rs 91.09 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing. On January 20, 2020, the Supreme Court directed that the Board of Directors of Unitech Ltd, as existing on that date, be superseded with immediate effect in order to facilitate the taking over of management by the new board constituted in terms of the proposal submitted by the central government.
Tata Power on Tuesday said it has logged 31 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,189 crore, compared to the year-ago period, on back of operational efficiency. "At Rs 1,189 crore, growing 31 per cent YoY (year-on-year), the company reported its highest ever and 19th consecutive quarter of PAT growth on the back of strong operational performance and execution excellence across all its businesses of generation, transmission & distribution, and renewables," Tata Power said in a statement. Lubes maker Castrol India Limited reported a marginal 3 per cent growth in profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 232 crore for the June 2024 quarter. The company had posted a PAT of Rs 225 crore in the April-June period of 2023. The revenue from operations during the second quarter rose 5 per cent to Rs 1,398 crores compared to Rs 1,334 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, Castrol India said. Castrol India follows the January-December period of the year for financial reporting. "Our balanced focus on volumes and margins, along with our commitment to innovation and brand building, has driven revenue growth," Deepesh Baxi, Chief Financial Officer at Castrol India Limited, said. Looking ahead, the ongoing innovations in products and services, coupled with strategic brand investments, will sustain our growth momentum, he said. Retail chain Shoppers Stop Ltd on Thursday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 22.72 crore in the June 2024 quarter, hit by subdued consumption due to prolonged heat waves, elections and inflation. The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 14.49 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, Shoppers Stop said in a regulatory filing. Consolidated revenue from operations in the quarter under review stood at Rs 1,069.31 crore as against Rs 993.61 crore in the year-ago period, it added. Total expenses were higher at Rs 1,104.51 crore in the first quarter compared to Rs 980.92 crore in the same period last fiscal, the company said. "The industry witnessed subdued consumption due to prolonged heat waves, elections, fewer weddings and inflation... Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (Ireda) on Friday reported over 30 per cent growth in its net profit to Rs 383.69 crore for the June quarter, mainly on the back of higher revenues. "IREDA has achieved Profit After Tax of Rs 383.69 crore (in Q1), marking an impressive year-on-year growth of 30.25 per cent," a company statement said. According to the statement, its net profit was Rs 294.58 crore in the quarter ended on June 30, 2023. As the largest pure-play green financing NBFC in the country, it stated that Ireda achieved a new industry standard by publishing its audited financial results within only 12 days. This milestone also marks Ireda as the first central public sector enterprise (CPSE) to promptly declare results and achieve the fastest publication of audited results in the banking and NBFC space, it added.
