An IndiGo flight en route to Bengaluru returned to Singapore after take-off on Tuesday morning as the airline had forgotten to offload the baggage of passengers of an earlier flight. "We acknowledge the baggage error on the part of our service partner at Singapore airport with respect to flight 6E 1006 operating from Singapore to Bengaluru, due to which the flight returned to origin. The passengers were kept informed of the delay and served refreshments," the airline said in a statement. Some social media users complained about the incident. An investigation into the death of a 14-year-old Indian-origin student-athlete at the Singapore Sports School, has revealed there was a safety lapse as his badminton coach failed to check on his well-being before leaving the track. The coach has been served a notice of dismissal, according to a Channel News Asia report on Saturday. Pranav Madhaik, who was part of the school's badminton academy and had aspired to be an Olympic champion, felt unwell following a 400-metre fitness time trial on October 5. Pranav was taken to the National University Hospital and he died on Wednesday (October 11). A trial involving six Indian banks pursuing unpaid loans amounting to an estimated USD 2 billion, including interest accrued, from GVK Coal Developers (Singapore) Pte Ltd and associated companies opened in the High Court here on Tuesday. Judge Dame Clare Moulder presided over the hearing at the Commercial Court division to hear the case brought by Bank of Baroda (acting by its Ras Al Khaimah branch), Bank of India (London branch), Canara Bank (London branch), ICICI Bank Ltd (acting by its Bahrain, Dubai and Off-Shore Banking branches), Indian Overseas Bank (Corporate Branch, India) and Axis Bank Ltd. The case dates back to 2011 and 2014, when loan facilities were made available to the company, which the banks say are long overdue other than USD 83 million from the proceeds of the sale of a Bengaluru airport and certain amounts not in dispute. Nine passengers were injured after an engine fire sent smoke into the cabin of an Air China jetliner landing in Singapore, prompting an evacuation of the aircraft.
