SAEL Industries signs 880 MW solar power PPAs in Gujarat, Punjab

SAEL Industries has signed two power purchase agreements for a combined solar power capacity of 880 megawatt in Punjab and Gujarat. Of the total, 400 megawatt (MW) will be set up in Punjab and 480 MW in Gujarat, the company said in a statement. In Gujarat, SAEL, through its subsidiaries SAEL Solar P Sixteen Private Ltd and SAEL Solar P Seventeen Private Ltd, has signed a PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for a total capacity of 480 MW AC of solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects. This includes 240 MW initially allocated and an additional 240 MW awarded under the greenshoe option. The solar project is expected to achieve scheduled commercial operation within 24 months from the PPA signing. GUVNL will procure the solar power at a tariff of Rs 2.56 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for 25 years. Over 1.67 million households benefitted under solar scheme: Govt to RS

A total of 16.78 lakh households have been benefitted with rooftop installations under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) and over Rs 9,000 crore has been disbursed as Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to the beneficiaries, Parliament was informed on Tuesday. The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) is implementing PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) across the country since February 2024. The scheme targets to achieve rooftop solar installations in one crore households in the residential sector by 2026-27. "A total of 16.78 lakh no. of households have been benefitted with rooftop solar installations under the scheme as on 05.08.2025 and amount of Rs 9,280.88 crore has been disbursed as Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to the beneficiaries," Minister of State (MoS) for New and Renewable Energy and Power Shripad Yesso Naik said in a reply to the Rajya Sabha. SAEL Industries arm commissions 50 MW solar project in Maharashtra

Solar RE Power, a subsidiary of SAEL Industries, on Tuesday said it has commissioned a 50 MW solar power plant in Beed district of Maharashtra. The plant is expected to generate over 100 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually, and is aligned with the government's vision for a sustainable energy future, SAEL Industries said. "The 50 MW (AC)...ground-mounted solar project features TOPCon bifacial modules, designed for high energy yield and performance reliability," the clean energy solutions provider said. Juniper Energy commissions 59 MWp solar project in Maharashtra's Wardha

Juniper Green Energy on Wednesday announced the commissioning of the 59 MWp solar component of its 75 MW hybrid power project in Wardha, Maharashtra. The plant, commissioned on June 6, 2025, was completed 17 months ahead of schedule, a company statement said. The Juniper Green Power Five Project has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) capacity of 75 MW, comprising a contracted 75 MW of solar and an additional 26.4 MW of installed wind capacity, according to the statement. The PPA was signed on November 18, 2024, with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), and the Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) is set for November 17, 2026, it added. REC to provide Rs 2.5 trn finance for renewable energy projects till 2030

State-owned non-banking finance firm REC Ltd will increase its exposure to renewable energy projects by about Rs 2.5 lakh crore in next six years to aid India's target of having 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy by 2030. REC currently has an exposure of about Rs 53,000 crore in renewable energy projects with a total loan book of Rs 5.67 lakh crore as on March 31, 2025. The company has planned to achieve a loan book of Rs 10 lakh crore including Rs 3 lakh crore exposure in renewable energy project by 2030. Renewable energy is a key area where the company will focus in the coming six years in view of nation's ambitious target of having 500 GW renewable energy by 2030. Coal India signs MoU with UPRVUNL to set up solar power plant in UP

State-owned CIL on Monday said it has signed an MoU with UPRVUNL to set up a 500 MW solar power project in Uttar Pradesh. The development is a part of initiatives of Coal India Ltd in the green energy space and to meet the growing energy demand of Uttar Pradesh. "Coal India Ltd (CIL) and UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (UPRVUNL) have executed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 5, 2025 at Lucknow with an intent of setting of 500 MW Solar Power project in Uttar Pradesh," CIL said in a filing to BSE. Vikram Solar bags 150 MW solar module supply deal from Maharashtra Power Co

Vikram Solar on Wednesday said it has secured a 150 MW solar module supply order from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd. The leading solar PV module manufacturer in a statement said it has bagged an order for a major renewable power project of 150 MW from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd (MAHAGENCO), a government of Maharashtra undertaking.
