Controversial England batsman Alex Hales will be available for Nottinghamshire for the rest of the white-ball season. Hales was axed from all England squads, including the provisional 15-man party for this year's World Cup, after reportedly failing a second test for recreational drugs. But his English county Nottinghamshire believe it is in the interests of "all concerned" for the batsman to return to playing cricket, starting with Friday's game against Durham. Kumar Sangakkara announced as first non-British President of MCC
Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara was announced as the first non-British President of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) on Wednesday and he will take up his one-year post on October 1, 2019.Sangakkara's nomination was announced by the MCC's current President Anthony Wreford, at the MCC Annual General Meeting at Lord's Cricket Ground."It is a huge honour to be named the next President of MCC and it is a role that I am thoroughly looking forward to. 'Senna Day' held in Brazil on 25th anniversary of F1 great's death
The Interlagos racing circuit held a 'Senna Day' to celebrate the life of Formula One great Ayrton Senna on Wednesday to mark the 25th anniversary of the Brazilian's death. The event began with a fun run around the famous circuit in Sao Paulo where the three-time world champion had twice tasted victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix in front of his adoring public in 1991 and 1993. Karting races were also on the program, as well as laps of the track in a specially commissioned super-touring McLaren, the British team with which Senna won the world title in 1988, 1990 and 1991. Senna died after a crash at the San Marino GP at the Imola circuit on May 1, 1994 at the age of just 34.
