TVS Motor Company on Friday said its wholesales rose 33 per cent year-on-year to 3,68,424 units in February. The company had dispatched 2,76,150 units in February 2023. Total two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 34 per cent to 3,57,810 units last month from 2,67,026 units in February last year, the company said in a statement. Domestic two-wheeler dispatches to dealers registered growth of 21 per cent at 2,67,502 units as compared with 2,21,402 units in the same period last year. The company said its electric vehicle sales stood at 17,959 units last month, an increase of 16 per cent, as compared with 15,522 units in February 2023.
TVS Motor reported a 23 per cent increase in vehicle sales to to 339,513 units in January. The company had recorded total sales of 275,115 units in January last year, TVS Motor said in a statement. Sale of two-wheelers registered a growth of 25 per cent with sales increasing from 264,710 units in January 2023 to 329,937 units in January 2024. Of this, domestic sales spiked 24 per cent to 268,233 units in the previous month, it said. In the two-wheeler segment, motorcycle volumes were up 29 per cent to 1,55,611 units from 1,21,042 units in January last year, it said. The scooter segment registered a growth of 24 per cent with sales increasing from 106,537 units in January 2023 to 132,290 units in January 2024, the company said. Two and three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor is aiming to capture a bigger market share in the premium motorcycle segment, an official of the company said on Wednesday. The company enjoys the number two position in the premium motorbike segment in India, which is growing at 10 per cent at present, he said. Motorcycles having an engine displacement of 150 cc and above are categorised in the premium segment. "We enjoy the number two position in the premium segment in the Indian motorcycle market. We aim to have a bigger market share in this category," Vimal Sumbly, head (premium business) of TVS Motor said. Launching the TVS Apache RTR 310 in Kolkata, Sumbly said the company now offers premium motorcycles ranging from 160 cc to 310 cc displacements. TVS Motor Company aims to expand its electric two-wheeler portfolio over the next one year as it looks to cater to customers at multiple price points, according to a top company official. The Chennai-based company, which currently has two e-scooters in its portfolio, also plans to expand its electric vehicle sales infrastructure going ahead. TVS Motor Company on Wednesday reported a 21 per cent increase in total dispatches to 4,34,714 units in October, its highest-ever monthly sales. The company sold 3,60,288 units in October last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. Two-wheeler sales were at 4,20,610 units in October as against 3,44,630 units in the year-ago period, up 22 per cent, it added. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 25 per cent to 344,957 units in October as against 2,75,934 units a year ago. Motorcycles posted a growth of 23 per cent at 2,01,965 units last month, up from 1,64,568 units in October 2022, while scooter clocked 1,65,135 units as against 1,35,190 units, an increase of 22 per cent. TVS Motor Company on Thursday said its sales increased by 2 per cent to 2,77,123 units in November. The company had dispatched 2,72,693 units in the year-ago period.
