Start-ups to soon start getting capital from Uttar Pradesh Start-up Fund

The Uttar Pradesh Startup Fund is fast gaining traction and will soon start disbursing growth capital to the state-based entities. The fund has garnered interests from the country's leading alternative investment funds, including venture funds, a government spokesman said here on Friday. The spokesman added that SIDBI, the designated fund manager for the fund, has so far received four applications from AIFs for an aggregate amount of Rs 285 crore to create the initial corpus. The decision on these applications will soon be taken by SIDBI and the Startup Nodal Agency in its first Venture Capital Investment Committee (VCIC) meeting scheduled to be held this month, he said. The government has also released Rs 41 lakh to the Startup Nodal Agency to be disbursed to start-ups and incubators whose proposals were already approved by the Policy Implementation Committee (PIU), the spokesman said. He also added that the money will be disbursed to start-ups in the form of sustenance allowance

Uttar Pradesh MSMEs to get up to Rs 5 lakh aid under new start-up policy

MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh will get marketing assistance of up to Rs five lakh under a new start-up policy, a senior official said here Tuesday. New start-up policy 2020, aimed at extending support and encouragement to start-ups and incubation centres in Uttar Pradesh has been notified, said Additional Chief Secretary (Electronics and Information Technology) Alok Kumar. Under the new policy, there is a window of up to Rs 5 lakh as marketing assistance to MSMEs," he added. Kumar gave this information while addressing a virtual conference on "Role of Information Technology in transforming MSMEs' future during COVID-19", a PHDCCI release said. The conference had been organized by the Uttar Pradesh Chapter of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Kumar also said the Department of IT & Electronics is working hand in hand with SIDBI to facilitate venture capital funding for new start-ups and MSMEs. Uttar Pradesh MoS Health Atul Garg tests positive for coronavirus

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Atul Garg, said on Tuesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Garg requested all those who came in contact with him recently to get tested for the disease. "On August 15, RTPCR test was done and I had tested negative. Yesterday, in the rapid test conducted at around 9 pm, I tested positive. People who came in contact with me from August 16 to August 18 should get themselves tested," he said in a tweet in Hindi. Two UP ministers, Kamal Rani Varun and Chetan Chauhan, recenly succumbed to COVID-19.
