Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday expressed grief over the deaths in a fire that broke out inside a stationary train compartment at the Madurai railway station in Tamil Nadu. He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of people from Uttar Pradesh who died in the incident. At least 10 people were "reported dead" in the fire inside the train compartment. The "private party coach" with 65 passengers had arrived from Lucknow, according to the Southern Railways. "Instructions have been given to provide an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of every citizen of Uttar Pradesh who died in this accident," the chief minister said on X, formerly Twitter. Ensure benefits of welfare schemes reach needy: CM Adityanath to officials

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed officials to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the needy. He also asked them to be sensitive towards public issues. The chief minister issued these directions during 'Janata Darshan' held on the premise of Gorakhnath temple here, an official release said. Adityanath directed the officials to initiate strict legal action against those who illegally encroach on people's properties, or try to bully and harm the marginalised. He told them to resolve the people's problems promptly and satisfactorily. Interacting with those seeking financial assistance for treatment of serious ailments, the chief minister said the government would ensure full treatment of even those patients who did not have the Ayushman card. He asked the officials to settle matters related to revenue and police with complete transparency and fairness, the release said.

Uttar Pradesh has transformed from being a 'Bimaru' state to become a prime investment destination in the past six years, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Monday. Investigate before filing FIR against traders, UP CM directs authorities

With a view to curb frivolous complaints against entrepreneurs, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed authorities to conduct a preliminary investigation before filing an FIR in case of a complaint against traders. The order that came on Saturday aims to reduce the number of "baseless" FIRs filed against businessmen and traders in the state, which frequently result in harassment and undue pressure, the state government spokesperson said. Now an FIR cannot be lodged directly by any person against entrepreneurs. The order was issued considering the direction given by the Supreme Court in a case, the spokesperson said. Yogi govt formulates plan to create 'Safe Industrial Area' in Uttar Pradesh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led-Uttar Pradesh government is set to enhance the security of industrial areas in line with its safe city plan.In alignment with CM Yogi's vision, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has initiated work on creating a 'Safe Industrial Area' modeled after the Safe City concept. Projects are underway to ensure the safety of industrial areas, according to a government release.As part of this initiative, industrial areas are being equipped with CCTV cameras, aiming to capture every activity to enhance security. Additionally, the construction of pink toilets, fire stations, and police posts is also in progress.Approximately Rs 235 crore is being planned to be allocated for these projects. HC gives 4 weeks to UP govt, LDA to respond on stalled JP project

The Allahabad High Court has granted four weeks to the state government and the Lucknow Development Authority to file their counter-affidavits on a plea over the alleged delay in completing the construction of Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre in Gomti Nagar. The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court directed the matter to be listed after four weeks. A bench of chief justice Printikar Diwakar and justice Rajan Roy passed the order on Friday on the PIL filed by Sanjay Sharma. The petitioner has alleged that the construction of the center was started in 2015 but the work did not progress after a change in government, causing an escalation of cost.
