Mahendragarh, Oct 8 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday while addressing a rally in Mahendragarh district of Haryana urged people to give BJP an opportunity to serve people of Haryana. He said that the land of Haryana is very rich and if proper facilities are provided to farmers, then the state would prosper. He added that the people of Haryana want to see a future where women can live with dignity and youth get opportunities to work.

Launching a sharp attack on the BJP, the Shiv Sena chief on Monday equated Narendra Modi and his central ministers with the army of Bijapur general Afzal Khan and asked voters to ensure the defeat of the BJP which, he said, was "conspiring to break the state into pieces."
New Delhi/ Mumbai, Oct 07 (ANI): NCP leader Majid Memon on Tuesday said that Elections Commission's show cause notice to Nitin Gadkari is on right grounds and he should apologise for the same even as BJP terms the case as 'bogus'. BJP leader Subramanium Swamy said that Gadkari talked about bribery in a sarcastic way and that EC should have a sense of humour. Meanwhile, party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party respects and understands EC's norms and model code of conduct and will take further course of action as required.

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): The Election Commission has sent a show cause notice to Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for an alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct committed in Maharashtra's Latur District recently. In a statement, the Election Commission said, Gadkari while addressing a public meeting in Latur District on Monday, had allegedly induced voters to accept bribes if offered by someone. The Election Commission said that as per the complaint received from the district election officer of Latur, it found Gadkari's statement to be amounting to abetting and promoting bribery, and deemed it to be violative of the Model Code of Conduct that is in place for the state assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra and Haryana on October 15.

Modi accused the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government for violating the model code of conduct by granting the approval ahead of the Oct 15 assembly elections. Reacting over this, Hooda said that the Haryana Govt has no link with the deal, and if government land is found in the deal he will quit.
