Man allegedly dies of starvation in Jharkhand's Latehar

Latehar (Jharkhand), Jun 07 (ANI): 65-year-old Ramcharan Munda allegedly died from starvation in Jharkhand's Latehar yesterday. The deceased family alleged that they could not get ration because the electronic machine used for biometric-based ration delivery wasn't working due to a network issue.Speaking to ANI, Munda's daughter said, ''We haven't received ration since past 3 months. He hadn't eaten anything in the last 3 days." However, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sudhir Kumar has rejected the charges. He said, "It hasn't yet been proved that he died from starvation. He was provided all benefits like Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Ration card, pension. There is no internet connection here, so we are now working on offline distribution."

Congress alleges usage of 'money power' after their MLAs seek merger with TRS in Telangana

New Delhi, June 07 (ANI): While reacting on a question over Congress MLAs request of merger with the TRS, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that whatever happened in Telangana was possible due to money power and the party condemn it. He said, "A political policy has been followed in Telangana since past one year of direct purchase. It's an unfortunate context but if there's such commercialisation, it's the negative aspect of it. All that happened in Telangana was possible due to money power. CRPF personnel carry sick boy on cot for 8 km for treatment

Sukma (Chhattisgarh), Jun 07 (ANI): While patrolling on June 06, troops of 231 Battalion CRPF found a severely ill boy in Gumodi village in Chhattisgarh. The troops carried the 13-year-old boy on a cot for 8 km and got him treated in their camp Kondasavli in Sukma. He was found to be suffering from jaundice. The minor is in a stable condition now.

While speaking to ANI, Lieutenant General (Retd) Vinod Bhatia said, "What MS Dhoni has done by supporting 'balidan' on his gloves, is being blown out of proportion. CM Yogi unveils 7-ft tall statue of Lord Rama in Ayodhya

Ayodhya (UP), June 07 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled a seven-feet tall statue of Lord Rama at the 'Shodh Sansthan' museum in Ayodhya. This statue is fashioned out of a single rosewood block and is from Karnataka. The statue depicts Kodamb Ram, which depicts phase of Rama's life. His visit to Ayodhya was announced a day after the Shiv Sena's media cell stated on June 05 that the party's chief, Uddhav Thackeray will visit Ayodhya later this month.

CM Gehlot committed on providing one lakh Agri connection

New Delhi, June 7 (ANI): A high level meeting was recently organised by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at his residence in Jaipur to review the status of distribution of agriculture electricity connection to the farmers.CM Gehlot instructed the electricity companies to provide one lakh new agriculture electricity connection in the stipulated time period. It was revealed in the meeting that out of the target of one lakh connections, 65 thousands connections have already been provided.In the meeting, CM directed the officials to provide three phase and single phase power to the rural and urban consumers according to the need, during the summer season. To ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity, Chief Minister instructed the authority to expedite the work of improving power lines, changing transformers and feeder repair work. He also emphasized at the adequate supply of power for drinking water projects so that availability of water in summer does not get affected.

UP Thunderstorm: 19 people dead, says Relief Commissioner

Lucknow (UP), Jun 07 (ANI): At least 19 people lost their lives while as many as 48 people got injured in the dust storm and lightening that struck several parts of Uttar Pradesh on June 06. While speaking to ANI, GS Priyadarshi, Relief Commissioner said that as per the data collected, 19 casualties from 12 district and 48 injuries have been reported due to thunderstorm yesterday. He added, "I have spoken to Collectors, ADMs and they have been told to compensate the affected as soon as possible."
