Rahul Gandhi must find right successor before resigning: Veerappa Moily

Bengaluru (Karnataka), Jun 08 (ANI): Senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily on Saturday urged party president Rahul Gandhi to find the "right candidate" to lead the party if he wants to resign from the presidentship. "Even if Rahul Gandhi wants to leave the presidentship, he has to do it only after party is properly restructured because he alone can do it. He has that kind of leadership quality. Even if he wants to leave, he has to hand it over to the right person, in right hands," Moily said in a letter which he narrated to ANI. Moily also raised concerns over the growing dissent within the party, and asserted that Congress cannot afford to be in a relaxed state. "People are raising their voices, in some states discipline is flouted but party can't afford to be in relaxed state. Rahul Gandhi is still the president of the party and he has to reign over the party. Indiscipline should be dealt with firm hand," Moily added.
