Hyderabad (AP)/ Cuttack (Odisha), June 05 (ANI): People across the nation will celebrate Eid today. Markets are filled with people ahead of the auspicious occasion. People were seen busy buying new clothes and jewelry to wear during Eid celebrations. The three-day Muslim festival marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. Traditionally, Eid is celebrated for three days as an official holiday in all Muslim-majority countries. Followed by Eid prayers, people congratulate each another and greet with 'Eid Mubarak' wishes.

Rare snake rescued in Odisha's Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj (Odisha), June 05 (ANI): A bronzeback tree snake was rescued from a house in Uthaninuagaon village in Mayurbhanj district in Odisha. The snake had blue marks on its skin. These snakes are not found in human habitat. Later, the rare reptile has been released in the forest area by the officials.

Panic buttons to be installed in Agra for people's safety

Agra (UP), June 05 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh's Agra is a major tourist attraction place and is visited by tourists in large number. Keeping this in mind, panic buttons will be set up across the city for people's safety. 63 streets have been identified for installation of panic buttons that will give alert signals to police, when it is pressed. Panic buttons may also be used for an emergency ambulance service. While speaking to ANI, Mayor of Agra city Naveen Jain, said, "63 streets have been identified for installation of panic buttons that will alert police, when pressed."

4 arrested for circulating fake currency notes in Assam

West Karbi Anglong (Assam), June 05 (ANI): Four people have been arrested for allegedly circulating fake currency notes having face value of Rs 2.23 lakh in Assam's West Karbi Anglong on Tuesday. Police also recovered one pistol and 3 live cartridges from their possession. Further investigation is underway.

Woman allegedly gang-raped Rajasthan's Pali, 4 accused arrested

Rajasthan, Jun 04 (ANI): A 30-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by five men in Rajasthan's Pali district and the video of the crime uploaded on social media. The incident took place on 26 May. The complaint was registered by the women yesterday. Four accused were arrested till now and police is searching for the fifth accused. While speaking to ANI, a police official said, "She registered a compliant y'day. Accused identified as Jitendra, Govind, Dinesh, Mahendra and Sanjay. We'll arrest the absconding accused soon."

TMC holds protest against LPG price hike, CM attacks government

Kolkata, Jun 04 (ANI): Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed Modi government for high unemployment as well as hike in cooking gas price in West Bengal. She said her party would hit the streets opposing the move. Following which, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee today led a protest march against LPG price hike in the streets of Kolkata. While speaking to ANI, BJP President of West Bengal Dilip Ghosh said, "Modi delivered gas cylinders to 7 crore people whereas Mamata Banerjee gave nothing to the people."

Left votes in Bengal may have gone to BJP, says Sitaram Yechury

Kolkata, June 04 (ANI): Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury admitted that the Left Front's vote base in West Bengal has shifted towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in recent concluded Lok Sabha elections .He said, "People were traditionally voted for the left but in this polarization many have voted BJP to defeat All India Trinamool Congress (TMC)". IGI airport invites 9 year-old to celebrate his birthday as he made airport model

New Delhi, Jun 04 (ANI): A nine year old boy in Delhi, Abeer Magoo made an airport model. He has been invited by airport authorities to celebrate his 10th birthday at IGI airport. While speaking to ANI, he said, "I worked for 21 hours non-stop to make this model. The Airport CEO has invited me for a tour. I will visit each part of the airport on my birthday. I'm excited".

Rajasthan's Churu records 50 degrees Celsius as heatwave grips India

Churu (Rajasthan), Jun 04 (ANI): There was no respite from the blistering heat conditions in Rajasthan. In Rajasthan's Churu the temperature touched 50 degree Celsius on Tuesday. Empty streets can be seen during the afternoon. Churu, also known as the gateway to the Thar desert, remained the hottest place in the country. People take to consuming juice to beat the heat. According to the IMD forecast, no significant changes in maximum temperatures are likely over the next two-three days.

Assam: Two Army jawans die as vehicle overturns

Assam, June 04 (ANI): Two Army jawans lost their life after the Army vehicle carrying them overturned in Nakarahola area of Assam's Sonitpur district on Tuesday. In the incident, three jawans also sustained injuries. The injured have been shifted to Army Base Hospital in Tezpur for medical attention.

'Ayushman Bharat scheme is a fraud', says Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, June 04 (ANI): After the surprise visit in Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain critisiced Central Government's Ayushman Bharat scheme. "Will not implement Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi, Ayushman Bharat scheme is a fraud," said Jain. "First Central government needs to provide the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Around 70 per cent of patients are coming here from Uttar Pradesh. 'Modi ji' did nothing there. We will not differentiate between rich and poor. We will not allow this yojana as government hospitals and medical check-ups are for all," Health Minister added. Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a centrally sponsored scheme launched in 2018, which aims to address healthcare issues by providing coverage up to Rs 5 lakh to the needy.
