Two terrorists gunned down in encounter in J and K's Sopore

Baramulla (J and K), May 30 (ANI): Encounter broke out on Thursday between security forces and terrorists in Sopore area of a Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two terrorist have been neutralized.The area has been cordoned off by the security forces. Earlier, three terrorists were killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists after a search operation was launched. Further details are awaited.

Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain takes charge as FOC-in-C of Eastern Naval Command

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), May 30 (ANI): Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain today took over as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Eastern Naval Command (ENC) from Vice Admiral Karambir Singh at a Ceremonial Parade held at the Naval Base in Visakhapatnam. Vice Admiral Jain inspected the Ceremonial Guard and reviewed platoons of Naval personnel drawn from various ships and establishments of the ENC. The ceremony was also attended by all Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of ships, submarines and establishments. Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, the outgoing FOC-in-C, will assume charge as the Chief of the Naval Staff on May 31. Singh will be replacing Admiral Sunil Lanba who retires after around four decades of distinguished service.

Santosh Gangwar denies reports of becoming Pro-tem Speaker

New Delhi, May 30 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Santosh Gangwar, who held various ministries in the outgoing government, denied reports of him becoming the Pro-tem Speaker as he said he is expected to most likely be included in the new cabinet. "I can't be the Pro-tem Speaker after becoming a Minister. Someone else will get that post. I will carry out whatever responsibility will be given to me," Gangwar told ANI. Gangwar, along with many other BJP leaders, received invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be present at a 4:30 pm meeting.

'Water Cards' issued to villagers to curb acute water shortage in Maharashtra's Buldhana

Buldhana (Maharashtra), May 30 (ANI): Water Cards have been issued to the villagers to curb acute water shortage in Maharashtra's Buldhana area. Village Head of Chincholi village of Maharashtra's Buldhana district, Sanjay Ingale said, "Since February 2018 water tankers have been coming to our village due to water scarcity. People used to climb on top of the tankers, there used to be a chaos. Now, each family has been issued a 'Water Card' through which 200 liters of water is given to each family."

Local police destroys large amount of seized drugs in Tripura 's Agartala

Agartala (Tripura), May 30 (ANI): Tripura Police on Thursday destroyed massive cache of drugs worth Rs 5 crore. The drugs were seized in period of last 1.5 months. L Darlong, DIG (Intelligence) said,"6,539 kg of Ganja, 37,758 bottles of cough syrup, 64,215 tablets and around 360 grams of heroin are destroyed."

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy takes oath as Andhra Pradesh CM
