12-year-old girl to take 'diksha', become a monk in Surat

Surat (Gujarat), May 29 (ANI): 12-year-old girl, Khushi Shah will renounce the worldly pleasures and will take 'diksha' today in Gujarat's Surat. When at the age of 12, children like to play and spend time with their friends, Khushi wants to take 'diksha' and lead a simple life as a saint. She used to study in 7th standard but left school in November to lead a simple life. While speaking to ANI, Khushi said, "In this world, the pleasure is for a short time and it's not permanent. I am 12 years old so I want to take a diksha." Yesterday, a celebration was held in the city and today Khushi will take 'diksha' to become a monk.

Girl allegedly abducted, raped at gunpoint in UP's Budhana

Muzaffarnagar (UP), May 29 (ANI): A girl allegedly abducted at gunpoint and was raped in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar. The incident took place in Budhana area on May 27. A case has been registered against a person and further investigation is underway. Steroids can lower risk of lung cancer in COPD patients up to 30%

New Delhi, May 29 (ANI): A recent study has found that steroid inhalers used by patients of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) could reduce the risk of lung cancer by as much as 30 per cent. The researchers evaluated medical and pharmacy data of 10 years for 39,676 adults in British Columbia who were diagnosed with COPD, including 994 people who were later diagnosed with lung cancer. They compared outcomes for people who took inhaled steroids versus those who used beta-agonists, another class of drugs used to treat COPD. "Results showed that if you had COPD and consistently used a steroid inhaler, your chances of getting lung cancer were between 25 per cent and 30 per cent lower compared to people who took other treatments," said the study's author Larry Lynd. "In Canada alone, more than 700,000 people have been diagnosed with COPD," said Don Sin, the study co-author. The machine will dispense one sanitary napkin in Rs. 5. All you have to do in insert a coin of Rs. 5 and the machine will dispense a sanitary napkin. The sanitary napkins provided by the machine are eco friendly. 2 TMC MLAs, 1 CPM, over 50 councillors join BJP

New Delhi, May 28 (ANI): After BJP's gigantic triumph in Lok Sabha elections, two TMC and one CPM MLAs from West Bengal joined the BJP at party's headquarters in the national capital. BSP leader, nephew shot dead in UP's Bijnor

Bijnor (UP), May 28 (ANI): Just after Lok Sabha elections, a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Haji Ahsan and his nephew Shadab were shot dead by unidentified assailants in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor today. The incident took place, when the BSP leader was working in his office with his nephew, when some unknown assailants barged into the office and shot them dead. According to Bijnor Additional Superintendent of Police, Laxmi Niwas Mishra said, "Some unidentified assailants shot at him, while he was in his office with his nephew around 3 pm. Prima facie it appears to be a case of enmity, probe is on." From initial investigation, the incident appears to be a case of enmity. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and investigation is underway.
