Samsung rolls out latest One UI software update to older smartwatches

New Delhi, May 21 (ANI): You will be able to access features of the Galaxy Watch Active right on your older smartwatch as Samsung is rolling out the latest software update on previous wearables. As Engadget reports, Samsung is rolling out an update that will bring the Active's One UI interface, health features, and other optimisations to the regular Galaxy Watch, Gear S3, and Gear Sport. You can also download some of the Active's watch faces for the older smartwatch. The update also brings some improved features such as outdoor swimming tracking, high heart rate alerts, sleep tracking, better battery life, and more.

Kochi man grows 40 varieties of mangoes on his rooftop

Kochi (Kerala), May 21 (ANI): A man from Kerala's Kochi has been growing 40 varieties of mangoes on his rooftop. What started as a hobby for Puthanparambil Joseph Francis, a technician by profession, has now become a full-time passion for mangoes. He initially grafted a single mango tree for experimentation, and after tasting success, Francis now owns multiple varieties of mangoes which he said are sweeter than the ones available in market.

Mallikarjun Kharge rejects third front proposition, confident of Congress leading opposition alliance

Mumbai, May 21 (ANI): Reacting to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's series of meetings with regional leaders that have fuelled rumours of a third front brewing, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said, "I don't want to react on third front. We're only 1 front. Rahul Gandhi will take the decision what is to be done. Sonia Gandhi has already called the meeting. Therefore that doesn't arise as far as I'm concerned and my party concerned." Dietary cholesterol or egg consumption do not increase the risk of stroke: Study

New Delhi, May 21 (ANI): Consuming up to one egg per day or moderately high intake of dietary cholesterol does not increase the risk of stroke, according to a study from the University of Eastern Finland. Furthermore, no association was found in carriers of the APOE4 phenotype, which affects cholesterol metabolism. The study was published in the 'American Journal of Clinical Nutrition'. The dietary habits of 1,950 men aged between 42 and 60 years with no baseline diagnosis of cardiovascular disease were assessed at the onset the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease Risk Factor Study, KIHD, in 1984-1989 at the University of Eastern Finland. APOE phenotype data were available for 1,015 of the men participating in the study. Of those, 32 per cent were known carriers of APOE4. During a follow-up of 21 years, 217 men were diagnosed with a stroke. The study found that neither dietary cholesterol nor egg consumption was associated with the risk of stroke - not even in carriers of APOE4.

4-year-old girl falls into borewell in Rajasthan's Jodhpur

Democracy succeeded in India due to 'perfect conduct' of polls by EC: Pranab Mukherjee

New Delhi, May 21 (ANI): Even as opposition partied continue to accuse the Election Commission of bias for the ruling party amid many controversies during the Lok Sabha elections, former president Pranab Mukherjee on Monday appreciated the way the poll body has conducted elections, and said if the democracy succeeded in country, it is largely due to the "perfect conduct" of polls by Election Commissioners since 1952 to present. "If we want to strengthen institutions we've to keep in mind institutions are serving well in this country and if democracy has succeeded, it's largely due to perfect conduct of elections by Election Commissioner starting from Sukumar Sen to present Election Commissioner," Mukherjee said in the national capital during a book launch.

Indian Army presents scholarships to J-K students

Udhampur (J-K), May 20 (ANI): Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command of Indian Army on Monday presented financial aid to 71 students from Below Poverty Line (BPL) category. The aid provided under 'Operation Sadhbavana' to needy children included scholarship to the tune of Rs 1.45 crores. The event was organised in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur. The petition has now hit 1.06 million signatures.
