Kashi is on a new path of development." PM modi is contesting again from Varanasi in the ongoing LS polls. The constituency will go to polls in the last phase.

BJP youth wing worker Priyanka Sharma granted conditional bail by SC

Howrah (West Bengal), May 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) youth wing worker Priyanka Sharma has been granted conditional bail by the Supreme Court (SC) in Delhi today. Family members of Priyanka celebrated the decision in West Bengal's Howrah after SC granted her conditional bail. Priyanka Sharma was arrested for posting an objectionable and morphed picture of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on her social media account. While speaking to ANI, mother of BJP youth wing worker, Raj Kumari Sharma said, "I can't express how happy I am. I am awaiting my daughter's return."

Shimla (HP), May 14 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla, Congress senior leader Mani Shankar Aiyar gives a clarification on an article written by him 'Was I not prophetic' and said, "I have been a victim of the media and it has caused me significant damage". Later he added, "Statement has come from my side, there is a whole article, picking out one line from it and saying "now talk on this". Truck runs over people in Kanpur, 3 dead

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), May 14 (ANI): Around three persons died after a truck ran over them in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur today. The incident took place near highway at Machharia area of Kanpur when a man and his two sons were sleeping during night time. This mishap occurred at around 4:00 am. Investigation is going on in this case. Rescue operation is underway.

Aiyar returns, terms 'neech aadmi' jibe against PM Modi 'prophetic'

New Delhi, May 14 (ANI): Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Tuesday said that he stands by his 'neech aadmi' jibe against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and termed his December 2017 remark about the Prime Minister as 'prophetic'. 'I said what I wanted to say in that article, I stand by every word. I have no desire to engage in any argument," said Aiyar. The Congressman hit yet another low by terming the Prime Minister 'foul-mouthed' and added that his ouster is certain on May 23. Aiyar in an article for an online publication, charged PM Modi of being 'guilty of anti-national activity in trying to ride on the sacrifices of martyrs.' In the run-up to 2017 Gujarat Assembly polls, Aiyar had referred to Modi as a 'neech-aadmi', a remark that cost his party heavily in the state. The Congress leader's comments were met with sharp criticism by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

J and K Sports Council organises Pencak Silat state championship in Srinagar

Srinagar (J and K), May 14 (ANI): Pencak Silat state championship was organised in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. It is the 3rd championship in a row. Similar championship will be organized in Jammu and afterwards chosen players from both the regions will be selected for national tournaments. Fitness and self-defence competition enhance the skills of students. Pencak Silat is a term for a class of related Indonesian Martial Arts.

Prisoner commits suicide in police custody in Ajmer, investigation underway

Ajmer (Rajasthan), May 14 (ANI): A prisoner committed suicide inside the police custody in Rajasthan's Ajmer on Monday. Magistrate enquiry is underway in order to investigate the case. He committed suicide inside the washroom of the police station. A medical board has also been formed to investigate the suicide case.

Man stabbed to death for objecting to lewd remarks on daughter in Delhi

New Delhi, May 14 (ANI): A man was stabbed to death by his neighbours in Basai Darapur area under Moti Nagar on Sunday night, May 12. The incident occurred after he objected to their lewd remarks and molestation attempts directed to his daughter. His son was also stabbed and is admitted in hospital.
