Global obesity rising faster in rural areas than cities: Study

New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): According to a recent study, obesity is increasing more rapidly in the world's rural areas than in the cities. As part of the study, a team of researchers analysed the height and weight data of more than 112 million adults across urban and rural areas of 200 countries and territories between 1985 and 2017. Height and weight can be used to calculate BMI, an internationally recognised scale which tells us whether an individual has a healthy weight for their height. The study, involving a network of more than 1000 researchers across the world, found that from 1985 to 2017, BMI rose by an average of 2.0 kg/m2 in women and 2.2 kg/m2 in men globally, equivalent to each person becoming 5-6 kg heavier. More than half of the global rise over these 33 years was due to increases in BMI in rural areas. Supreme Court dismisses Tej Bahadur's plea to contest from Varanasi

New Delhi,May 09 (ANI): Supreme Court dismissed the plea of sacked Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav to contest from Varanasi. He had challenged Election Commission's decision, which rejected his nomination papers from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav's lawyer Prashant Bhushan told the media that Supreme Court has dismissed the plea by saying, "We do not find any grounds to entertain the plea of Tej Bahadur Yadav". He further added "The court said that it was not inclined to this petition under article 31 and therefore, dismiss the petition".

Sidharth Malhotra gives sneak peek into 'Shershaah'

New Delhi, May 09 (ANI): Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who has begun work on the upcoming flick 'Shershaah' has posted an image on him on a vintage bike. Taking to his Instagram story, the 'Ek Villain' actor shared an image of him sitting on a Yamaha RX100 from the sets of 'Shershaah' and wrote, "Ride for the day!". In another clip shared by the actor, he can be seen riding the bike with co-actor Kiara Ali Advani seated at the back and wrote, "There we go!" The image and the small clip both posted by Malhotra comes as an early sign that shooting has commenced. Yesterday, filmmakers confirmed that they have begun the shoot, without naming any location. Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Ali Advani starrer 'Shershaah' is being helmed by Vishnu Varadhan while Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah and Himanshu Gandhi are producing the film.

Hotel imposes ban on Pakistani nationals from entering his hotel after continuous attacks on Indian Army

Prayagraj (UP), May 09 (ANI): A city based hotel in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj has imposed a ban on Pakistani nationals from entering the hotel. The hotel has taken the step after continuous attacks by Pakistan on Indian soldiers. Hotel Milan Palace has put a notice outside its hotel stating, 'Entry of Pakistani nationals restricted.' According to the hotel owner Harjinder Singh, "We had put up the notice after the Pulwama attack. No Pakistani national has come here till date but even if they come, they won't be allotted rooms. We're protesting in a way we can." On February 14, 2019, 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a JeM-orchestrated terror attack in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. >
