New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman talked about the allegations opposition had made on the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) manifesto. Sitharaman said, "Can anyone deny that Ram Temple issue is still in the court? But still we have issued a request and we even gone to the court and say 'will you please release those lands that are around the disputed area so that other works can start'. I actually want to ask question in return. What Congress party wants to do on these issues? Do they want to continue the stale-mate? Do they want to say they are not interested in Ram Mandir? What is the position of Congress party? So, instead of calling others 'Jumla', let them come out openly to say that they either in favour of the temple or not."
Latur (Maharashtra), Apr 09 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed a public rally in Maharashtra's Latur. Taking a pot shot at Congress' recently released manifesto, PM Modi said, "Congress' manifesto is saying Pakistan's tone. Congress is saying that they will talk to people who are creating anarchy in the Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan is also saying the same, so that India will entangled in these issues. Congress is saying that it will take back Armed Forces (Special Powers) Acts (AFSPA), Pakistan also wants the same." He also slammed Congress by saying, "Congress in its manifesto talked about not to remove article 370, if Congress had this strength in 1947, so partition of the country wouldn't have happen."

Hyderabad, Apr 09 (ANI): All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be remembered for mob lynching, as Owaisi claimed that mob related violent incidents peaked during the tenure of PM Modi. Owaisi underlined the recent Assam incident, where a 68-year-old was beaten up in an alleged cow slaughter case, to back his criticism of PM Modi.

It is an occasion to worship village deity who is considered to be the protector of the tribes. People sing and dance a lot when the new flowers appear. Aranthangi (Tamil Nadu), Apr 09 (ANI): A statue of Dravidian ideologue 'Periyar' EV Ramasamy, was found vandalised in Tamil Nadu's Pudukkottai district on Monday. This incident took place near Aranthangi in Pudukkottai district. Periyar was a politician and social activist, who started the self-respect movement and Dravidar Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu. He is also known as the 'Father of Dravidian Movement'. The statue was placed near Aranthangi government hospital in 1998. It was found beheaded early morning yesterday. Police have registered a case in this regard. Further investigation is underway in this matter.
Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 09 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath filed nominations on Tuesday from Chhindwara constituency which is up for both assembly by-poll and Lok Sabha elections. Kamal Nath had not contested the Assembly polls in November and therefore, he needs to get elected to the Madhya Pradesh Assembly within six months of being sworn-in as CM. Alipurduar (West Bengal), Apr 09 (ANI): Bhutia Basti village in West Bengal's Alipurduar district suffers from acute water scarcity and don't have access to health care. This, however, has not demotivated the residents from leaving their homes to vote in large numbers since the independence. The current strength of Bhutia Basti is 107 people from 33 families which somehow lead their lives despite all the adversities they face. "We are casting our vote, MPs and MLAs are making their position because of us and yet we remained in the same gutter since time immemorial," said 54 years old Arjun Chhetri, one of the last few residents of Bhutia Basti.
