New Delhi, Apr 02 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in a bus near Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) Kashmere Gate, opposite Hanuman Temple in Delhi on Tuesday. Three fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire. No injuries or causalities have been reported so far.
Thoothukudi (TN) Apr 02 (ANI): While addressing a rally in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi on the issue of Congress party election manifesto promising to amend Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act-AFSPA, BJP president Amit Shah came down heavily on the party and said, "I want to ask Congress president, the Congress has proposed to tone down AFSPA in Jammu and Kashmir. New Delhi, Apr 02 (ANI): Congress on Tuesday released its party's manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019 in the national capital. The manifesto was titled 'Congress will deliver.' The event was attended by Congress president Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former prime minister Manmohan Singh, former finance minister P Chidambaram, Congress general secretary for East UP Priyanka Gandhi and other party leaders. The three issues mentioned in the manifesto are unemployment, farmers' distress and women issues. P Chidambaram was the head of the manifesto committee. The Lok Sabha election is scheduled to start from April 11. Rahul Gandhi asserted that this is not a manifesto to be made in closed rooms but this should reflect the wishes of the people of India.

Srinagar (JandK), Apr 02 (ANI): Despite critical situation in Jammu and Kashmir, hundreds of youth showed their affection towards the Indian Army by participating in Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JKLI) recruitment rally in JKLI's Regimental Centre in Srinagar's Rangreth. This recruitment rally was conducted specially for ex-army persons' relatives, who served the Indian Army in JandK. Army received massive response in the recruitment rally. On April 1, at least four Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists have been gunned down by the Army in an anti-terror operation in JandK's Pulwama district. Three security personnel were also injured in the operion in the south Kashmir district.

Kalahandi (Odisha), Apr 02 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday criticised the Congress and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for the underdevelopment of Odisha and said that such parties conspired to keep the poor of the country poor for their vote bank politics. PM Modi also underlined the tragic incident of Dana Manjhi, a man in Odisha's Kalahandi, who walked 10 kilometers carrying his wife's body due to absence of ambulance in his village. "Parties like Congress and BJD conspired to keep the poor of the country poor, they deceived the poor. Rajouri (JandK), Apr 02 (ANI): Atleast four civilians were injured in Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mankote sector of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The shelling took place on Monday night. The injured civilians were rushed to a district hospital in Rajouri and are undergoing treatment. Medical officer Dr Riaz Ul Haq said, "Four patients were admitted in the hospital last night. A 14-year-old was seriously injured in the incident. The condition of all four patients is stable and better now."

Meerut (UP), Apr 02 (ANI): One woman died and another one is critically injured after being allegedly shot by jilted lover in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. The accused went to the victim's house and started firing, while one died on the spot and her sister was rushed to the hospital. Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police Nitin Tiwari said, "The accused went to the victim's house and used a pistol to fire at the victim and her sister. The police have also recovered a knife, which was used for attacking the victim. The deceased's body has been sent for postmortem, while the injured victim is currently in ICU. Investigation is currently underway in this regard."
