CRPF jawans get first dose of COVID-19 vaccination in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Feb 16 (ANI): Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel got first dose of COVID-19 vaccination in Odisha's Bhubaneswar on February 15. The vaccination drive was inaugurated by CRPF Inspector General SK Mohanty. Many CRPF personnel were being vaccinated during the drive. This campus is targeting to vaccinate minimum 800 CRPF personnel in four days.

85,16,385 beneficiaries vaccinated till Feb 15: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): "85,16,385 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 6pm on February 15," informed Health Ministry Joint Secretary Mandeep Bhandari during a press conference on February 15. Mandeep Bhandari said, "Total vaccination carried out is of 85,16,385 beneficiaries. 61,54,894 healthcare workers vaccinated. Of which, first dose of vaccine has been given to 60,57,162 while second dose has been given to 97,732 beneficiaries. Around 14 states have recorded coverage of more than 70%."

COVID Vaccination: '11 deaths so far,' informs Health Ministry

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): "35 cases required hospitalization, 11 deaths have been reported in hospitals during last 31 days of COVID vaccination drive," informed Health Ministry Joint Secretary Mandeep Bhandari on February 15. Bhandari said, "Percentage of hospitalisation against vaccination is 0.0004%. In the last 24 hours, there is one case that required hospitalisation. This is due to central retinal vein occlusion after blood pressure increased. Patient is now stable at the hospital in Indore."

Toolkit case: People protest in Bengaluru against Disha Ravi's arrest

Bengaluru (Karnataka), Feb 15 (ANI): People from various organizations and students on February 15 staged a protest at Benagluru's Mysore bank circle against arrest of Disha Ravi. Hundreds of protestors gathered with Disha's posters and demanded her release. Disha Ravi was arrested by Delhi Police for her alleged involvement in 'toolkit' case, which was shared by environmentalist Greta Thunberg on twitter. Later, Greta deleted the tweet but it sparked controversy in India. Police charged Disha for being 'key conspirator' and editing "toolkit doc" in the document's formulation and dissemination. Delhi police has issued arrest warrant for two other people also, Nikita Jacob and Shantanu.

Will intensify strike if govt will not respond: IMA Prez on 'mixopathy'

New Delhi, Feb 14 (ANI): While addressing a joint press conference in the national capital on February 14, the president of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Dr JA Jayalal said, "We will intensify the strike if the government will not listen to us or not respond. IMA is not against the public and that is why we have not gone for the closure of the hospitals." "We know our opponents are very big and there are 411 Ayurveda Medical College in India," he added. The doctors said that the mixing of the two pathies, referred to as 'mixopathy', will inevitably bring doom to the healthcare system in India. They demand the government to withdraw the order for the sake of the public.

IMA doctors on relay fasting express anguish against concept of 'mixopathy'

New Delhi, Feb 14 (ANI): The notification by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) has received backlash from the medical fraternity. The notification allows Ayurveda practitioners to perform up to 58 medical surgeries. It has prompted doctors from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to go on a relay hunger strike. While addressing a joint press conference in the national capital on February 14, the president of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Dr JA Jayalal said, "In last 14 days, 3.5 lakh doctors across the nation is on relay-fasting expressing our concern, pain and anguish against the concept of mixing the systems and bringing 'one nation, one system, one treatment' concept". The IMA has taken the case to the court and vehemently opposed 'mixopathy'. They state that practitioner from one field performing other field's surgeries can be termed as quackery.

Have not yet raised slogan to 'return back gaddi': Rakesh Tikait

Karnal (Haryana), Feb 14 (ANI): "Don't spoil our brains, both 'kisan and jawan' have right now said that take back the bills, we have not yet raised the slogan to return back the 'gaddi' so it's better if you keep on doing our work," said BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait during a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Indri on February 14.
