Kevadia, Gujarat (ANI) October 31: India's first-ever seaplane services have been launched from Ahmedabad's Sabarmati riverfront to Statue of Unity in Kevadia on the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It aims to revolutionise the country's regional connectivity scheme. Water aerodromes at both these locations are being developed with aviation expertise of Airports Authority of India in cooperation with Gujarat Government. The project is funded by the Ministry of Civil Aviation under its RCS-UDAN scheme. There are plans to develop 12 such sea plane routes in the country with an aim to boost tourism and generate employment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day Gujarat trip during which he is scheduled to launch a host of projects, including a seaplane service between Kevadiya and Ahmedabad, and visit the Statue of Unity. Modi inaugurated 'Arogya Van', a garden housing medicinal plants and herbs, near the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya village of Gujarats Narmada district. In a significant development, the Maharashtra cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Thursday decided to scrap the tendering process for the ambitious redevelopment of Dharavi -- the slum area situated in heart of Mumbai and Asia's largest -- and invite fresh bids. With this, the earlier process of inviting global tenders in October 2018 for the multi-thousand crore project stands cancelled, as per a decision of a Committee of Secretaries, and the subsequent opinion of the state Advocate General. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said there were visible signs of revival in the economy but the GDP growth may be in the negative zone or near zero in the current fiscal. She said the economy saw a contraction in the April-June quarter, but demand has picked up in the festival season. For 15 years, this government has kept the youth unemployed, turned away from daily wage workers, poverty did not end, famine did not end and instead both health and education got adversely affected. Therefore, people who are excising vote should vote on issues. And today, unemployment is the biggest issue in Bihar. And please vote to see a change."
Lakhisarai (Bihar), Oct 28 (ANI): Union Minister and Member of Parliament Giriraj Singh visited a temple in Lakhisarai's Barahiya to seek blessings ahead of Bihar's first phase of voting. Giriraj Singh called election as the biggest festival of democracy. Total of 1,066 candidates are in fray for 71 seats in Bihar. Amid pandemic, it is first of its kind voting. Giriraj Singh said, "Election is the biggest festival of democracy. Everyone has the right to vote. I appeal to everyone to exercise their right to vote."
