Ghaziabad (UP)/Chennai/ Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Apr 05 (ANI):People were seen illuminating Mobile lights, diyas and candles across the country at 9 pm on April 05 as symbolic gesture. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 03 requested nation to light lamps to mark country's fight against COVID-19. He also asked people to turn off all the lights in their homes and stand at the doors or the balconies. The country is under 21-day lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic.

Delhi crematorium ground offers CNG cremation for those died of coronavirus

New Delhi, Apr 05(ANI): Amid COVID-19 pandemic, Delhi's Punjabi Bagh Crematorium ground has offered CNG cremation for the coronavirus affected deceased instead of the traditional way as the procedure is safe as well as environment friendly. "The closed CNG furnace will not let the virus to spread as it has temperature around 800 degrees Celsius which will eventually kill the spread and operational procedure will also be faster compared to traditional way. In conventional method, chances of spread will be higher," said Neeraj Bali, proprietor of the crematorium ground.

Haryana CM urges people to be cautious while following PM's appeal to light diyas

Chandigarh , Apr 05(ANI): Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar highlighted certain precautions that need to be undertaken while illuminating diyas at 9pm for 9 minutes on April 5, as requested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 3 in his address to the nation. Manohar Lal Khattar requested people to stay at home and maintain social distancing while lighting diyas. He further said to avoid the usage of sanitisers before lighting as it might catch fire due to the presence of alcohol. Khattar emphasised that lights in public places including street lights will remain open.

Lack of cooperation from suspected people led to spread of coronavirus: MP CM

Bhopal (MP), Apr 05 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said there was lack of cooperation from symptomatic people to contain coronavirus outbreak, indicating the resistance shown by people who attended Nizamuddin event. "People should come forward by themselves to disclose their info but they hesitated. COVID-19 kept spreading. There was lack of cooperation. You will see this issue in some specific areas in Indore. People also create problems to see that the health staff can't go in there. It's important to save lives so health staff went back to those areas," the CM said.

COVID-19: Won't let anyone toy with human lives, says MP CM

Bhopal (MP), Apr 05 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that government will not let anyone toy with human lives they will be send to jail. "We will take action against all those who become an obstruction in stopping COVID-19. We won't spare anyone. We will also monitor using drones. I am reiterating that no function, large or small, should be held. If someone organises such functions or obstructs the medical procedure then FIR will be registered against them and they will be sent to jail. We will not let anyone toy with human lives. We identified 57 foreign Jamaatis. They came on tourist visa and moved around without informing anyone while being carriers. So their passports have been seized and they are being blacklisted," said CM Singh.

COVID-19: Railway converts 20 coaches into isolation wards in WB's Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri (West Bengal), Apr 05(ANI): Amid rising cases of coronavirus across the country, Katihar division of Northeast Frontier Railway converted 20 coaches into isolation wards for quarantine of COVID-19 patients. Senior Section Engineer, Ajay Kumar informed that each coach has nine coops, and each coop is dedicated for quarantine of an individual. He further said that ideally each coach has four toilets, but we have converted two toilets for bathroom purpose. "Of the 20 coaches, 2 are ready and 10 are going through cleaning," Kumar said.

COVID-19 cases rise to 122 in Indore, death toll at 8: CMO

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 05(ANI): Indore Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Praveen Jadia updated on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the city. He said, "The total number of positive cases in Indore was 113, but after 9 more positive cases were reported on April 5, the number has risen to 122." On death toll, Dr. Praveen Jadia said the death toll has risen to 8 after a 50-year old man died in the city. He further confirmed that coronavirus spread in Indore is restricted to certain wards and families.

Doctors holds routine checkup of Hazrat Nizamuddin police station staff

New Delhi, Apr 05 (ANI): A team of doctors held a 'routine checkup' of Hazrat Nizamuddin police station staff. Police personnel were a part of the evacuation team that rescued over 2,000 people from the Nizamuddin Markaz building. Over 2,500 people from all over India and some from abroad had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin area in Delhi last month. Over 600 of them have been tested positive for coronavirus. Meanwhile, a team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has also arrived at Nizamuddin Markaz for an investigation into the case.

Crime Branch team investigates Delhi's Nizamuddin Marzak using drone

New Delhi, Apr 05 (ANI): A team of Delhi Police Crime Branch reached at Delhi's Nizamuddin Markaz for investigation on April 05. They did videography of the affected area using drone camera for probe. DCP Crime Joy Tirkey headed the team of crime branch during investigation. Around 2300 people were brought out from Markaz amid coronavirus lockdown. An FIR has been registered against Tablighi Jamaat head Maulana Saad and others under the Epidemic Disease Act. Further investigation in the matter will continue by the team of crime branch in the coming days as well. There are total 466 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Delhi including six deaths and 15 cured. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3030 in India and 77 deaths.
