Kolkata, Apr 07 (ANI): Even as the country has not reached midway in its fight against coronavirus, a sweet shop owner in Kolkata has come up with 'corona' sweets which look like the coronavirus to "uplift the spirit" of the people in these testing times. Cakes, cupcakes and other desserts were designed in shape of coronavirus, and according to the shop owner, the idea behind it was to tell people to fight and digest the virus and not vice versa. "Thousands of people are dying due to the coronavirus. It's a message to uplift the spirit of people that we will fight and digest corona and not vice versa," the shop owner said.

New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): Young women who eat high-fibre foods in their adolescence, especially fruits and vegetables may have significantly lower breast cancer risk than those who eat less dietary fibre when young, suggested a recent study. The new large-scale study led by researchers at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health was published online in the journal Pediatrics. Breast cancer risk was 12 per cent to 19 per cent lower among women who ate more dietary fibre in early adulthood, depending on how much more they ate. High intake of fibre during adolescence was also associated with 16 per cent lower risks of overall breast cancer and 24 per cent lower risk of breast cancer before menopause. Among all the women, there was a strong inverse association between fibre intake and breast cancer incidence.
New Delhi, Apr 07(ANI): Uber announced that it is tying up with e-commerce giant Flipkart to provide delivery of essential supplies to customers during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. In an official blog, Prabhjeet Singh, Director - Operations, and Head of Cities, Uber India and South Asia wrote that the company will facilitate the delivery of supplies to consumers across Delhi, Mumbai. The money earned through these deliveries will be given to the drivers. The latest effort follows Uber's similar initiatives with BigBasket and Spencer's Retail for the last-mile delivery service.

The young volunteers of the NGO distributed essential items to the needy that live on the footpath. They also provided mask and coconut water to the police officials who were on duty. Due to lockdown, the couple was returning to their home in Nepal. However, Uttar Pradesh administration stopped them and asked them to stay in quarantine till the lockdown ends. Woman's husband is a migrant worker, who was working at a hotel in Faridabad.
New Delhi, Apr 06 (ANI): Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal on April 06 informed about the current status of COVID-19 cases in the country and Centre and state governments preparations over it. He said that 291 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 4067 cases have been recorded till yet in which 1445 cases are from Tablighi Jamaat attendees. "693 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 4067 in India out of which 1445 cases are related to Jablighi Jamaat. 76 per cent cases have been reported in males and 24 per cent in females," he said.

Gaya (Bihar), Apr 06 (ANI): In a recent incident happened in Gaya, two people disguised as doctors at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH) and entered into coronavirus specialised ward. Reportedly, the fraudsters also gave some medicines to coronavirus patients. Later, they were caught by the hospital staff and were handed over to the police. A total of 30 positive cases have been confirmed in Bihar as of now.

He said that 63 per cent deaths have been reported with people 60-years and above, 30 per cent deaths reported between people from 40-60 years and seven per cent deaths have been recorded in people below 40 years.

New Delhi, Apr 06 (ANI): While addressing the media after Cabinet Meeting, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar informed that the cabinet has approved temporary suspension of MPLAD Fund of MPs during 2020-21 and 2021-22 for managing health and adverse impact of outbreak of COVID-19 in India. He further added, "The consolidated amount of MPLAD Funds for 2 years - Rs 7,900 crores - will go to Consolidated Fund of India".
