Patna (Bihar), Mar 05 (ANI): After High-school teachers in Bihar joined the strike for salary-hike in solidarity with middle-school teachers in state, over 45,000 are being affected. Bihar Education Minister "When a strike takes place, a lot of things get affected. We are making alternative arrangements. It is a matter of concern. It is unfortunate that teachers decided to strike specially in a time when exams are being held. These are our teachers, we don't have any grudge against them. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken care of them."

Bulandshahr (UP), Mar 05 (ANI): Two men thrashed in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr by some people. They also made a video of thrashing and posted it on social media. Police have lodged an FIR in regards to the matter and investigation is on. According to city SSP Santosh Kumar Singh, "It happened b/w 2 groups in Hamidpur village on 2nd March. FIR was registered. There are different versions of the incident. It's being investigated to know the actual reason behind the incident"
Murshidabad (WB), Mar 05 (ANI):A resident of Murshidabad's Ramnagar got an unpleasant surprise after he received his revised voter ID with a picture of a dog instead of his. Sunil Karmakar had applied for a correction in his voter ID. Karmakar said, "Y'day I was called at Dulal Smriti School and this voter ID was given to me. I saw the photo. The officer there, signed and gave it to me but he didn't see the photo. This is playing with my dignity. I will go to BDO office and request that this should not happen again." Rajarshi Chakraborty, BDO said, "It's not his final voter ID. If there is a mistake, it'll be corrected. As far as dog's photo is concerned, it might've been done by someone while filling online application. The photo has already been corrected. He'll get the final ID with correct photo."

"All the MLAs who returned from Delhi showed BJP's face to the people. Not a single MLA of ours proved to be 'bikau'. Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Mar 05 (ANI): Uttarakhand Health Department is taking precautionary measures amid coronavirus scare, which has engulfed national capital. Government Doon Medical College Hospital has adequate quantity of masks and an isolation ward has also been created with 29 beds for positive cases, for medical staff there are enough kits as well, according to Hospital Incharge Dr Manoj Kumar. Bhadohi (UP), Mar 05 (ANI): A school principal in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi has set an example for other teachers by providing tablets to students of his school from his own salary. Principal of Prathmik Vidyalay Chitaipur, Arvind Pal bought tablets for students in a bid to provide them digital learning tool. Tablets were given to students by District Magistrate Rajendra Prasad at an event.
New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): After a successful run on social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter, the feature of dark mode has been now launched on the instant messaging platform WhatsApp. The mode turns the interface into a dark theme, making usage easy on the eyes. According to The Verge, the new feature in the WhatsApp has been launched after months of beta testing and will be functional on the applications in all iOS and Android mobile phones. The app will automatically switch over to the dark mode if the dark mode has been enabled in the mobile phones at the system level in the phones having either Android 10 or iOS 13. In mobile phones with Android 9, the new theme has to be enabled from the settings menu of the application. New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): After visiting a vandalised school in Brijpuri, Rahul Gandhi said the violence is of no benefit to 'Bharat Mata'. "This school is the future of Delhi. Hate and violence has destroyed it. This violence is of no benefit to Bharat Mata. Everybody has to work together and take India forward at this time," Rahul Gandhi further said. New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders visited violence-affected areas of North-East Delhi. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Randeep Singh Surjewala also joined the delegation. The leaders visited at several locations including Chand Bagh and New Mustafabad's Brijpuri area. Over 40 people lost their lives in Delhi violence. The violence broke out in national capital on February 23. However, on being asked about the visit, Congress leader K Suresh made a controversial statement by saying, "Congress MPs had so far not visited the riot-affected areas, but IUML and CPI-Left MPs had visited, so we were under tremendous pressure from our constituencies."
According to the World Health Organisation, there are 93,042 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 3,201 deaths reported globally in 67 countries. Coronavirus death toll in China climbed to 2,943 with 31 more deaths reported today, while 125 confirmed cases were reported, the lowest since the virus outbreak in the country, Chinese health officials said on Tuesday. Meanwhile, six people have died of the deadly virus in the United States, while over 105 confirmed cases have been reported from the country. Reports also suggested that close to 50,000 people have recovered from the deadly virus worldwide.
New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Staying strong in the long ongoing struggle in 2012 gang rape case, Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi thanked President of India for rejecting Pawan's mercy plea and hoped that the new date of death warrant for Nirbhaya's convicts will be the final one. "I thank President of India for rejecting the last mercy. We are now going to file application for a new death warrant. We hope the new date will be the last one and Nirbhaya will get the justice," said Asha Devi with hope. She added, "This has been delayed to such an extent that until the convicts are hanged, I won't be satisfied. I hope that the new date for death warrant that will be generated will be the final one".
New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Non-resident Indian (NRI) can now acquire up to 100 per cent equity in Air India. While addressing the press conference after cabinet meeting, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar informed, "Regarding the strategic sale of Air India, now Non-resident Indian (NRI) can acquire 100% of stake in the airlines. Earlier it was 49%."
New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Cabinet approved Companies (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019. While addressing the press conference, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "Cabinet approves Companies (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019. Bill removes criminality under the Act. This Bill further ease of living for law-abiding corporates and de-clogs the criminal justice system in the country." The 72 changes in the Companies Act have also been approved.
New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Heavy selling in financial and metal stocks dragged equity benchmark indices lower by half a per cent on Wednesday as the government said that number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in India has risen to 28. The market sentiment was affected after Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that a total of 28 cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed and all international tourists coming to India are being screened at airports. As investors assessed the economic fallout from fast-spreading Coronavirus globally, the BSE SandP Sensex closed 214 points or 0.55 per cent lower at 38,409 while the Nifty 50 slipped by 49 points or 0.43 per cent to 11,254. Except for Nifty pharma and IT, all sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty financial service losing by 1.42 per cent, private bank by 1.71 per cent, metal by 0.74 per cent.
New Delhi, march 4 (ANI): A team of Counter Intelligence Unit, Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested 4 most wanted criminals of gang wanted more than dozen heinous crime from Gurugram. The arrested criminals identified as Jitender Alias Gogi, Rohit Alias Moi, Kuldeep Mann Alias Fajja and Kapil. All the arrested accused are cumulatively carrying a total reward of Rs 10 lakhs fifty thousand. Jitender was running an extremely sophisticated organized crime syndicate. Members of his gang were committing extortion, collecting ransom, protection money and committing car-jacking at impunity. The Special Cell was on the trail of gang members for a long time and traced them to Gurugram, and surrounded their hideout. Total six imported pistols; over 70 live cartridges and one robbed car were recovered from the accused. A case under the relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Special Cell. Further investigation is under progress.
New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): After President Ram Nath Kovind rejected the mercy plea of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case convict Pawan, Nirbhaya's lawyer Seema Kushwaha to now file a fresh application in Delhi High Court in the case. She said, "We are moving a fresh application in Delhi court to fix a fresh date for the execution of the four convicts. All the convicts have exhausted their complete rights. The date which will be fixed now will be the final date." Nirbhaya's lawyer Seema Kushwaha also thanked President Ram Nath Kovind to reject the mercy plea.
New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan informed that there have been 28 positive cases of coronavirus in India as of now. He said, "From now on, all flights and passengers will be part of universal screening, not just the 12 countries which we had listed earlier. 17 out of 23-24 Italian nationals, including an Indian driver have found positive for coronavirus. They have been sent to at Indo-Tibetan Border Police's (ITBP) quarantine facility in Chhawla. Three cases were from Kerala that have been cured, one from Delhi and his family of six people, one from Telangana and this Italian group. Till now, there have been 28 positive cases of coronavirus in India".
