Mohali (Punjab), Feb 03 (ANI): A 62-year-old private security guard Nirmal Singh is running school for children of migrant labourers. Nirmal Singh, a resident of Ropar district, educates poor children and also provides them with books, toys, eatables, clothes. Besides guarding, Nirmal teaches students different languages including English, Punjabi, Hindi and mathematics. "It was my childhood dream to educate poor children. It took me around a year to convince parents of these children living in slums. At present, I am teaching around 60 children in Guru Nanak School," said Nirmal Singh.

Chennai (TN), Feb 04 (ANI): Speaking on the budget, P Chidambaram, former Finance Minister and Congress leader expressed disappointment. He mentioned budget as 'a movie which bombed after first show'. "I think it's unfortunate that after 160 minutes there was no narrative in the Budget. That's why Budget, as a topic, has disappeared from front pages of newspapers on the 2nd day, it has also disappeared from TV channels. It's like a movie which bombed after the first show. It's unfortunate that so many heads come together and write marathon speech and yet the people are left in the dark about what is it that the government wanted to say," said P Chidambaram.

Morigaon (Assam), Feb 03 (ANI): Locals and Forest Department officials rescued an elephant calf in Assam's Morigaon that was trapped between huge rock boulders. The incident took place at Sonakuchi hills area near Jagiroad in central Assam. According to reports, some local villagers noticed that an elephant calf was trapped between huge rocks while its mother was roaming in the area. They immediately informed the Forest Department about the incident and they immediately took the action to rescue the calf. However, the mother of the calf chased the locals and the forest department personnel when they tried to rescue the calf. One of the villagers was also injured after he fell into ditch when mother of the elephant calf chased him.
