Jamia students protest outside police station after firing incident

New Delhi, Feb 03 (ANI): Students of Jamia Millia Islamia and other protestors gathered outside Jamia Nagar police station to protest. Two scooter-borne assailants opened fire at midnight near gate number 5 of Jamia. No injuries were reported in the incident. Investigation is underway. Recently, a juvenile opened fire at anti-CAA protestors near Jamia in which a student, Shadab Farooq, got injured. In another incident a man opened fire at Shaheen Bagh.

2 unidentified persons open fire near Jamia Millia Islamia

New Delhi, Feb 03 (ANI): Two unknown persons opened fire near Gate number 5 of Jamia Millia Islamia. No injuries have been reported so far. Investigation is underway. Recently, a juvenile opened fire at anti-CAA protestors near Jamia in which a student, Shadab Farooq, got injured. In another incident a man opened fire at Shaheen Bagh.

EC organises special event at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan for voter awareness

New Delhi, Feb 03 (ANI): To aware voters of their electoral rights, Delhi Chief Electoral Office (CEO) organised SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation program) at Ramlila ground on Feb 02. Kites were flown to attract visitors at the event. The enthusiasts were provided with different shapes of kites with messages such as 'Delhi Ka voter, Delhi Ka Dabang, 'vote on 8.02.2020'. The kite flying event was closely followed by live painting. Polling in Delhi will be held on February 8 and the counting of votes will take place on February 11.

25 hospitalised after boat capsizes in Odisha's Chilika Lake

Khurda (Odisha), Feb 03 (ANI): A boat carrying 25 people capsized in famous Chilika Lake on February 02. They were returning from Kalijai when the incident took place. All the 25 people were admitted at a hospital in Balugaon, 2 people have been referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

Aurangabad college bans mobile phones on campus to enhance learning process

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Feb 03 (ANI): Dr Rafiq Zakiria Women's College in Aurangabad has made its campus 'Mobile Free Zone'. Speaking to ANI, Principal said, "Girls are happy, their concentration has increased. Their interaction with each other has increased. It was done with consent of parents, students and teachers." Students can access internet at computer room and reading room. If they need to make a phone call, they can use cell phone at reading room for which they need to write their name, roll no, mobile no,and name of the person they're making phone call to on register.

India will not tolerate five killings against one: Nirbhaya convicts' lawyer

New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): Delhi High Court on February 02 reserved order on Centre and Tihar jail's plea challenging the trial court's order which had stayed the execution of the convicts in the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case. Nirbhaya's Mother, Asha Devi said, "I hope that this verdict will take us towards Justice." On the other side, Convict's lawyer AP Singh shared his concern, and said India will not tolerate killing of five people against one.

Watch: Tricolour march in TN's Coimbatore against CAA, NRC and NPR

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Feb 02 (ANI): A tricolour march was taken out in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore on February 02, against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC), and National Population Register (NPR). Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Congress, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) took part in the march. Several Muslim organisations also joined the march.

Coronovirus: Another batch of 300 Indians evacuated from China's Wuhan

New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): Around 300 Indians, who arrived in an Air India special flight from Wuhan in China at Delhi Airport on February morning, have been taken to Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) camp for medical observation. They have been shifted to the paramilitary force's Chhawla camp in New Delhi. Both ITBP and Army have created n-coronavirus quarantine facilities for the passengers coming from Chinese city of Wuhan. The coronavirus outbreak has killed more than 250 people and infected over 9,000 in China. On the other side, two people from Kerala have tested positive for the virus in India.

Watch: Indians evacuated from China's Wuhan amid coronovirus horror dance at Army camp

Manesar (Haryana), Feb 02 (ANI): Indian students, who are among other nationals, who were evacuated from China's Wuhan amid the spread of deadly coronovirus, were seen dancing at a quarantine facility of Indian Army in Haryana's Manesar where they have been lodged for medical supervision. The evacuated nationals danced with their masks on at the isolation camp. The Novel Coronovirus has claimed over 250 deaths in China where the deadly disease recently originated. India also reported its first two confirmed cases of coronovirus both of which came from Kerala. The first death outside China was reported on February 02 in The Philippines.

Delhi polls: Congress releases manifesto, promises anti-NRC, Lokpal, pollution-free steps

New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): Ahead of Delhi Assembly elections, Congress Party released its manifesto and promised to go against new citizenship law. Congress promised to go to Supreme Court as the Government of Delhi, against the Citizenship Amendment Act, if it comes to power. Congress has also announced it will not implement National Register of Citizens (NRC), as well as National Population Register (NPR) in its current form in the national capital. The party has also promised to get a strong Lokpal in first six months. It also proposes to spend 25 percent of Delhi Budget on fighting pollution.

Monks at Mahabodhi Temple pray for coronavirus patients

Bodhgaya (Bihar), Feb 02 (ANI): Special prayers were offered at Mahabodhi Temple for the victims of dreadful Novel Coronavirus. The monks at the temple offered special prayers for the victims of the virus and prayed for their fast recovery. A medical team is also checking every tourist visiting the temple. Novel Coronavirus has claimed over 250 deaths in China alone, and several people are affected by it. First death from Novel Coronavirus has been reported outside China. The Philippines confirmed that a man, who tested positive for the new coronavirus, died. Bodhgaya is one of the most important and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage center in the world. India also reported two confirmed cases of coronovirus both of which have come from Kerala.

'Don't know why he took such a step,' says father of Kapil Gujjar who opened fire in Shaheen Bagh area

New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): Gaje Singh, Father of Kapil Gujjar, man who opened fire in Shaheen Bagh area in New Delhi on February 01, said that they don't know why he has taken such a step. "I did not go to meet him. I am at home since morning. Had no information about him after I dropped him. After that, we saw him on the television in the evening. We don't know why he took such a step," said Gaje Singh. Delhi police have been registered an FIR against Kapil Gujjar.

Still some people called on the protest today, so, they were stopped and dispersed by police," said DCP Chinmoy Biswal.

Car falls into canal after hitting divider in Ghaziabad, 4 missing
