Sirsa (Haryana), Jan 04 (ANI): To combat the issue of unpaid electricity bills, Haryana Cabinet Minister Ranjit Singh Chautala said that kids of consumers who haven't paid electricity bills will not be able to sit in competitive exams. He said, "Government will bring a condition that only those children will sit for competitive exams who have no dues certificate for paying electricity bill." He further added, "He will motivate farmers to observe the habit of paying electricity bill. Government can give electricity on 'no loss-no profit', but at least pay some bill."
Bengaluru, Jan 04 (ANI): Demonstrators organised peaceful protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Bengaluru on Jan 04. They sat on 'fasting satyagraha' at Freedom Park as a part of protest. One of the protestors said that the whole world is against it so, something must be wrong with CAA and NRC and it is threat to our nation. Nation-wide protests have intensified after implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act.
New Delhi, Jan 04 (ANI): Speaking on US strike on Iran where Iran's top commander General Qasem Soleimani was killed, Ambassador of Argentina to India, Daniel Chuburu said, "We need to wait to see more of its repercussions. Let me tell you that I am a man of peace so, anyhow, whatever happens on that level, I think it's not the way of giving solutions to the problems. There are another ways and peace have to be prevailed." He also gave his views on Indian education system and called it 'interesting one'.

B Kumar, SHO, Gurugram Sadar said, "We received complaint from a mini truck driver about an accident between his vehicle and a car on intervening night of 25-26 December. Car is registered in Sapna Choudhary's name, yet to be investigated who was in car. Case registered."

Harbhajan Kaur sells delicious home-made 'besan ki barfi' and has launched her own brand - 'Harbhajan's'. Her daughter encouraged her to pursue her passion for preparing dishes. While speaking to ANI, her daughter told, "She expressed one day that she has not earned a single penny from her own and her words struck to my heart a lot. She is so talented and we never went to eat outside even a chocolate as she cooks really well. Our childhood memories are related to 'besan ki barfi' and that's why I encouraged her to make them and sell them as well." Harbhajan Kaur is, indeed an inspiration to all the procrastinators.
Bodhgaya (Bihar), Jan 04 (ANI): Hollywood actor Richard Gere is on a trip to India. He was seen in Bihar's Bodhgaya. The actor was in Bodhgaya to attend the opening ceremony of a teaching session of Dalai Lama. The first session of Dalai Lama's teaching was started on January 02. Richard has attended Dalai Lama's Kalachakra in 2017 as well.
New Delhi, Jan 04 (ANI): A new study suggests that kidney transplant recipients who follow more of the Mediterranean diet were less likely to experience kidney loss. Adhering to a Mediterranean diet may help kidney transplant recipients to maintain the health of the transplant kidney function. The study was conducted by taking the accounts of 632 adult kidney transplant recipients with a functioning donor kidney for at least one year completed a food-related questionnaire, and adherence to the Mediterranean diet was assessed using a 9-point score.
West Tripura (Tripura), Jan 04 (ANI): The Border Security Force (BSF) in a joint crackdown with Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized 1.68 lakh Myanmar-made Yaba tablets worth Rs 8.5 crore from a house in West Tripura along the Bangladesh border. The operation is said to be the biggest ever in Tripura in terms of the quantity of the narcotic drug and its worth.

Sagar (Madhya Pradesh), Jan 04 (ANI): A trainer aircraft of an aviation academy crashed in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar on January 03. Two people have been killed in the accident. Both were onboard. The two deceased pilots have been identified as Trainer Ashok Makwana and Trainee Piyush Singh Chandel.

The mosaic portrait of the Ram Darbar is made up of 2 lakh clay lamps measuring 60 ft x 90 ft. This creation is Chetan"s 10th world record. The mosaic portrait of the Ram Darbar is world"s biggest portrait. 30 people had worked day and night to complete the portrait in three days. Speaking to ANI, Raut said,"This is my 10th new world record. Through this portrait, we welcomed New Year. We have made world"s biggest Ram Darbar with 2 lakh clay lamps."
Moradabad (UP), Jan 04 (ANI): A man tried to burn a petrol pump employee in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad where he was refused to take out the fuel in a bottle on January 03. The whole incident was captured in CCTV camera. The accused has been arrested by the police. Speaking on the matter, a police official said, "A man came to take petrol in a bottle at the petrol pump. After the employee of the pump denied to gave petrol in a bottle the man got angry and wanted to burn the petrol pump employee. The accused has been arrested."
Satara (Maharashtra), Jan 03 (ANI): The last rites of Lance Naik Sandip Raghunath Sawant were performed at his native place in Maharashtra's Satara on January 03. He lost his life in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowshera sector on January 01. Veteran Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan also paid floral tribute to the slain soldier. The funeral was held with full military honours and was attended by locals and political leaders who paid floral tributes to him.

Kolkata, Jan 03 (ANI): Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, And Transgender (LGBT) community along with Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee and students of Jadavpur University on January 3 held a protest against Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Kolkata. The protestors were carrying placards slogans against CAA and NRC during their protest. Protests have been held in several parts of the country against CAA which grants citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, Buddhists and Christians who fled religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh and came to India on or before December 31, 2014.

"We believe that it's the responsibility of the hospital, doctors and nurses to control the deaths. If there was lack of equipment, then you should have bought it. You have around Rs. 6 cr with you. Itne equipment ki toh zarurat hi ni hai," said Pratap Singh. "The entire world knows that Rajasthan is a state which is on the top when it comes to medical facilities, free medicines and free medical treatment. This is not a political issue, it is not a BJP-Congress matter," he added further.
