Guwahati (Assam), July 21 (ANI): Nipon Das, coach of Sprinter Hima Das, expressed his happiness over Indian ace sprinter Hima Das's performance. The 19-year-old Indian ace sprinter Hima Das has so far bagged five gold medals in this month alone. Nipon Das said, "I am very happy with the way she has performed. I pray she does well in upcoming events. I hope she performs the same way in 2020 Olympics." The 19-year-old Indian ace sprinter Hima Das bagged the fifth gold medal of the month in 400 m race at the Czech Republic on July 20. Earlier, she won gold at 200 m in Tabor Athletic Meet. While she won three gold medals at different events including in Klado Athletic Meet, Kunto Athletics Meet and Poznan Athletics Grand Prix.

Amit Shah pays tribute to LJP MP Ram Chandra Paswan

New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Union Home Minister and BJP president Amit Shah paid tribute to Union Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan's brother Ram Chandra Paswan who passed away today. Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Member of Parliament, Ram Chandra Paswan passed away at the age of 56. He died at RML Hospital in Delhi. His body will be flown to Patna tomorrow for his cremation, as informed by Ram Vilas Paswan.

Sheila Dikshit's last rites performed with state honours

New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikhsit's last rites were performed at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi with state honours. Hundreds of people turned up to pay homage to Sheila Dikshit. Seniors leader of different political parties were present at Dikshit's last rites. The three-time Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit passed away at the age of 81. She was the longest serving chief minister of Delhi. She also had a brief stint as Governor of Kerala in 2004.

Morigaon (Assam), July 21 (ANI): Assam floods have put the life of wildlife animals in danger. Parts of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Morigaon have been flooded. Locals have also been altered after heavy flooding killed people in Assam. Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Kaziranga National Park as well as Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary leaving a number of animals dead.

Four people allegedly killed on suspicion of black magic in Jharkhand's Gumla

Gumla (Jharkhand), July 21 (ANI): Four people were allegedly beaten to death after it was suspected that they used to practice black magic. The shocking incident was reported from Jharkhand's Gumla. Superintendent of Police of Gumla, Anjani Kumar Jha said, "Prima facie, it appears the victims were involved in witchcraft. Crime seems to have happened because of superstitious beliefs. Investigation is underway."A case was registered in the matter after the complaint. Meanwhile, bodies of the deceased were sent for the post-mortem.

Rs 18.5 lakh compensation to be given to kin of Sonbhadra victims: CM Yogi

Sonbhadra (UP), July 21 (ANI): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the family members of the deceased today. He announced Rs. 18.5 lakh compensation to the bereaved families of the Sonbhadra victims. Addressing a press conference, he said, "Government has ordered to suspend police personnel responsible. Today I have ordered to provide compensation of Rs. 18.5 lakh to the bereaved families of the deceased and Rs. 2.5 lakh to the injured, from CM Relief Fund under SC/ST provisions." At least 10 people were killed and several sustained injuries on July 17 in an incident of firing over a land dispute at a village in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district.

Ram Vilas Paswan's brother Ram Chandra Paswan passes away

New Delhi, Jul 21 (ANI): Member of Parliament (MP) from Samastipur Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar and brother of Union Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Ram Chandra Paswan, today died at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi. He was 56. Ram Vilas Paswan, who was present at the hospital, broke down while telling the reporters about the bond with his younger brother. Ram Vilas Paswan's son Chirag Paswan and other family members were also present outside the hospital. Ram Chandra Paswan's body will be flown to Patna tomorrow for his cremation, Ram Vilas Paswan informed media.

Fire breaks out at Church Chamber building in Mumbai's Colaba

Srinagar youth donate blood to save precious lives in Valley

Srinagar (J-K), July 21 (ANI): For the benefit of needy people and to save the precious lives, youth of Srinagar donated blood. A special blood donation camp was organised by a college in collaboration with department of health services. Their main aim is to make people aware about the importance of donating blood and help hospitals authorities of Valley which face shortage of blood at the time of emergency. Chandrayaan-2 is ready for launch: Former ISRO chief AS Kiran Kumar

Bengaluru, July 21 (ANI): While talking on launch of the Chandrayaan-2 mission, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) former chief AS Kiran Kumar said that the Chandrayaan-2 is ready for launch on July 22. "Chandrayaan-2 is now ready for launch on 22 July. We intend to move towards the moon on August 14 and land on the moon around September 6. All the activities are in full swing and we are getting ready for the event on July 22," the former ISRO chief told ANI. Uttarakhand villagers risk their lives as they cross river through trolley

Nainital (Uttarakhand), July 21 (ANI): Villagers in Uttarakhand are risking their lives every day while crossing river through a hanging bridge. Locals of Danijela village in Uttarakhand's Nainital cross river in a trolley which was set up by themselves. While speaking to ANI on this matter, one of the locals said, 'During monsoon, water level rises and current is very swift. We cross river in trolley. We have requested government to construct a bridge.' Meanwhile, the District Magistrate (DM) of Nainital Savin Bansal said, 'Efforts on to get new bridges approved by government.'
