Bengaluru, July 21 (ANI): Former prime minister HD Devegowda said it is a great loss to Indian politics following the demise of former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit. While speaking to ANI, Devegowda said, "She served as CM for more than 15 years. She was the most honest, simple and dedicated lady. For all round development in Delhi, which has become one of the international cities today and the credit goes to her. It is a great loss. I only pray to almighty to the great soul to rest in peace." Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit passed away at the age of 81 yesterday. She was the longest serving chief minister of Delhi. She also had a brief stint as Governor of Kerala in 2004.
New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Under the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra scheme, the second train was flagged off on Saturday. The train was flagged off from the Safdarjung railway station in the national capital. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal flagged off the first train under this scheme. This scheme is fully funded by the Delhi government. The government will bear the entire expenditure, including travel, accommodation, meals and other arrangements. The Mukhayamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana covers five routes of religious importance.
New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): The three-time Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit died on Saturday in the national capital. She died due to cardiac arrest at the age of 81. While speaking to ANI, Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah said, "Sheila Dikshit was a known face in the political fraternity. I have spent some time with her while being the chief minister of JandK. What she has done for Delhi, people will never forget that. Her working style was different." Meanwhile, CPI leader D Raja said, "My party pays homage to Sheila Dikshit. She was one of the most loved and respected politicians in the country. She has served the country in different capacity." On the other side, CPI leader Atul Kumar Anjan said, "She completely changed face of Delhi through flyovers and metro project. She has worked with her experience in politics."
Leh (JandK), July 21 (ANI): In JandK's Leh, river rafting competition of schoolchildren was conducted under Ladakh School Olympics 2019. It covered a stretch of 8 km from Tsoksti till Sangam viewpoint in Zanskar River. Ladakh Cluster University, Vice-Chancellor, Chewang Phonsog was the chief guest on the occasion. While speaking to ANI, Phonsog said, "I am delight to see schoolchildren participating in the rafting competition and I hope this becomes annual events like other sports. I am glad to see Ladakh children are participating in it." "My team participated in the rafting competition for the first time. We felt glad and we practised rafting two days before it starts. Trainer trained and guided us a lot of things," a participant told to ANI. C. Phonsog also presented medals to the top three teams of boys and girls in river rafting competition.
New Delhi, Jul 21 (ANI): Former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj arrived at Sheila Dikshit's residence to pay her tribute. Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders D Raja and Atul Kumar Anjan also arrived to pay last respects to Congress stalwart. Chief minister of Delhi for 15 years, Dikshit was credited with many people friendly initiatives. She died of cardiac arrest in a Delhi hospital on Saturday. Last rites of Dikshit will be performed later today.
Amroha (Uttar Pradesh), July 21 (ANI): An artist from Uttar Pradesh's Amroha paid tribute to former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit. Artist Juhaib designed 6-feet tall portrait of Sheila Dikshit. Portrait was made up of coal. Sheila Dikshit was three-time Delhi CM and died on Saturday in the national capital.
Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh), Jul 21 (ANI): A woman allegedly tried to abduct her own daughter from the premises of a local court in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur on Saturday, when the latter had come along with her husband. The daughter is said to have solemnised court marriage with a man of her choice against the wishes of her mother, sometime back. ASP Madhuban Singh said, "The mother had opposed the marriage and had filed a molestation case against her son-in-law. It is being investigated. But today, the couple had come for a different matter when the mother tried to take her away. They were brought to the police station. Action is being taken."

Bikaner (Rajasthan), Jul 21 (ANI): A medical student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself. The incident took place at SP Medical College in Rajasthan's Bikaner yesterday. Principal HS Kumar said, 'She was a bright student. We don't know the reason of suicide.' Police said, 'Body shifted to mortuary. Her relatives have been informed.'
Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh), Jul 21 (ANI): A bike-borne assailant robbed a petrol pump staff of Rs 2,500 at gunpoint in Aligarh's Jawan area. The incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed at the petrol pump on Saturday. Abhishek, ASP (City), Aligarh said, "Three bike-borne men went there and one of them had a gun. He looted Rs 2,500 cash from the petrol pump staff". A case has been registered under the relevant section of the law.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jul 21 (ANI): Body of a new born girl was found near King George's Medical University (KGMU) yesterday. ASP Durga Prasad Tewari said, "1-2 day old infant was found dead near KGMU. Her body was sent for postmortem. Investigation is underway, action will be taken."
Imphal (Manipur), July 21 (ANI): Two children were drowned in a river in Manipur's Imphal on Saturday. The incident took place near Mahabali Temple. The team of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) recovered body of one of the children. The other child is yet to be found. Rescue operation is still underway.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jul 21 (ANI): Doctors at Max Hospital, Saket arranged around Rs 11 lakh for liver transplant of a 7-yr-old boy. His parents had expressed inability to pay entire amount of transplant. Md Rehan, child's father says, "Doctors helped us. We paid Rs 3 Lakh, they arranged the rest." Dr Sharat Verma of Max Hospital said, "His liver had completely failed, he had jaundice and kept slipping into a coma. We suggested them transplant, they said they don't have enough money. Pediatric liver transplantation is done at cost of Rs 15 Lakh, we arranged Rs 11 Lakh for them."
