Actor Sameera Reddy welcomes baby girl!

New Delhi, July 12 (ANI): The 34-year-old shared the happy news on the photo-sharing site- Instagram with a picture of her daughter's little hand. The 'De Dana Dan' actor exuded excitement as she had been active in posting pictures from her underwater photo shoot showing her bump in a bikini. The photo shoot was Sameera's campaign 'Imperfectly Perfect', her small step towards making women love their bodies. In sharing one of her pictures from her underwater shoot, the actor wrote, "I want to thank you for supporting this campaign! I wanted to empower women to just love their bodies. And I'm so grateful for the positive feedback. I love you guys. You give me strength. We are all #imperfectlyperfect." She also shared a monochrome picture of her a day ago where she wrote, "Hello Bumpie we almost there." She has appeared in films like 'Maine Dil Tujhko Diya', 'Taxi No. 9 2 11', and 'Darna Mana Hai'.

CM Mamata holds 'Padayatra' to spread 'Save Water' awareness in Kolkata

76-year-old man provides free auto-ambulance service in Delhi

New Delhi, July 12 (ANI): A 76-year-old former traffic warden runs 'auto ambulance' to provide free help to people injured in road accidents in Delhi. Harjinder Singh's auto stands on the busy roads of Delhi as his auto's back cover reads "Free ambulance for injured in road accidents" in red color. While speaking to ANI, Harjinder Singh said, "If I come across any accident victim, I rush him to the hospital, so that his life can be saved. On an average, I help 1 victim per day"

Rahul Gandhi appears before Ahmedabad court over defamation case by District Cooperative Bank

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Jul 12 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today appeared before the Ahmedabad Metropolitan Court in connection with a criminal defamation case against him filed by Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank and its chairman Ajay Patel. The defamation suit alleges that Congress leaders including Gandhi had falsely accused that the bank was involved in a scam to swap Rs 750 crore of scrapped notes with valid currency within five days of demonetisation in 2016.

Heavy downpour triggers flood in Mizoram's Tlabung

Tlabung (Mizoram), July 12 (ANI): Heavy downpour led to flood in Mizoram's Tlabung town today. The region is receiving heavy rainfall from the past couple of days with minimum and maximum temperatures hovering around 24 degree Celsius and 28 degree Celsius respectively. Several homes were evacuated amidst flood like situation in the town. Due to incessant rainfall, schools in the vicinity have been shut for next few days. Commuters have been asked to stay cautious while traveling to their workplace as some of the roads were damaged.

3 students allegedly beaten up for refusing to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' in UP

Unnao (UP), July 12 (ANI): Atleast three children were allegedly beaten up by some boys while they were playing cricket after they refused to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao. Police official, Unnao said, "Three children of Jama Masjid Madarsa got injured during a clash between two groups on cricket ground in Government Inter College, where these children had gone to play cricket. Case has been registered. Investigation is underway." Naeem Misbahi, Maulana of Jama Masjid Unnao said, "Children were beaten by some boys while they were playing cricket after they refused to chant 'Jai Shri Ram'. They also pelted stones at children. On checking Facebook profile of the boys, we got to know that they've links with Bajrang Dal."

Chennai water crisis: 1st train bringing water from Vellore finally reaches Chennai

Chennai, July 12 (ANI): The first train carrying water from Jolarpettai Junction in Vellore district finally reached Chennai on Friday. It will ease Tamil Nadu's severe water crisis problem. The state government had announced to bring in water from Vellore by rail wagons as Chennai is facing water crisis. Tamil Nadu will bring in 10 million litres of water per day via rail network from Jolarpet to tackle the widespread acute water crisis across the state of Tamil Nadu.

Debt-ridden farmer ends his life in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh, July 12 (ANI): A farmer committed suicide after failing to repay his loans in Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred at Mandasa village of Srikakulam district on June 11. C Prasad, Sub Inspector of Mandasa said, "He committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree. Family said he committed suicide due to inability to repay the debts. An FIR has been lodged. We'll investigate the matter."

People in Punjab hail government's decision of banning 'Sikhs for Justice'

Ludhiana (Punjab), July 12 (ANI): A large number of people gathered here on Thursday to hail the Centre's decision of declaring 'Sikhs for Justice' as an unlawful association under provision 3(1) of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967. The residents chanted slogans against Khalistan and 'Sikhs for Justice', a pro-Khalistan organisation. They also cherished India's ban for its anti-national activities. The 'Sikh for Justice' organisation has been carrying out anti-India operations from Canada and the United States. It has allegedly been operating with the funds being provided to by Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI (Inter-services Intelligence). 35 cattle found dead at temporary shelter in UP's Prayagraj

Prayagraj (UP), July 12 (ANI): Thirty five cattle found dead at a temporary shelter at Kandi village in Bahadurpur on Friday. Continuous rains and lightning were the main causes behind the cows' death. Treatment for others cattle are underway. While speaking to mediapersons, District Magistrate, Bhanu Chandra Goswami said, "Prima facie it appears that 35 cattle have died due to lightning. Treatment for other is underway."
