Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Jun 22 (ANI): Justice V Ramasubramanian on Saturday took oath as the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court in Shimla. Governor Acharya Dev Vrat administrated the oath of office to the new Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Supreme Court Collegium had on May 10 recommended the appointment of Justice V Ramasubramanian as Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court. This was in view of the proposed elevation of incumbent Chief Justice Surya Kant to the Supreme Court.
Bhopal (MP), June (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Saturday underwent a successful operation at the Hamidia Hospital here after suffering a trigger finger problem. While speaking to mediapersons, Gandhi Medical College, Dean, Aruna Kumar said, "CM was admitted to Hamidia Hospital today morning. He had a trigger finger problem. He underwent an operation and his condition is stable. He has been kept under observation for few hours."
Srinagar (JandK), Jun 22 (ANI): Orchid owners and growers in Jammu and Kashmir are enthused with the blooming cherry crop this season in the state, famed for its horticulture. The Valley of Kashmir located at the higher altitudes mainly grows temperate fruits. It grows not only several varieties of cherries but also apples, apricots, almonds, peaches, walnuts and grapes. These fruits are harvested in Harwan, Dara, Nishat and Tangamarg regions. Farmers are expecting a good price from the market for these cherries. "As you can see, this time we have grown a variety of fruits. We provide assistance to them as and when required. A lot of people are getting employment in this season. Every year the productions of fruits are increasing. Field staff guides farmers and orchids owners," said Nazir Ahmad Guroo, Technical Officer Horticulture.
New Delhi (June 22, 2019) ANI: Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated the state-of-the-art Central Air Traffic Flow Management system (C-ATFM) in New Delhi on Saturday. In India, C-ATFM system came with an estimated cost of Rs. 107 Crore and has been already been implemented at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata airports. As the air traffic flow was growing rapidly in India and was likely to expand in near future, the requirement of ATFM or Air Traffic Flow Management became the need of the hour. In 2017, India became the seventh country in the world after USA, Europe, Australia, South Africa, Brazil and Japan to implement an advanced state-of-the-art Central ATFM system. With the introduction of this system in India, it has led to enhanced safety and annual fuel savings of thousands of crore rupees by reducing fuel burn along with minimizing flight delays caused due to air traffic congestion.
Mumbai, June 22 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on Saturday, Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Anil Bonde on agrarian crisis in the state said, "It is true that there is an agrarian crisis in the state. Till today, Rs 19000 Cr has been transferred into the accounts of farmers. Those remaining will also get benefit of loan waiver in the coming weeks. I appeal to farmers to not bring thoughts of committing suicide to their minds. It's a difficult time as there has been no rain yet. We all need to fight this together." Earlier, Opposition MLAs in Maharashtra staged a protest over agrarian crisis in the state and made a strong pitch for complete farm loan waiver.
Chhapra (Bihar), June 22 (ANI): In a shocking incident, a man stabbed to death allegedly over a dispute regarding seat in Pawan Express train. The incident took place on Friday night at Chhapra junction of Bihar. The deceased has not been identified yet. While speaking to media, a GRP said, "They had a tussle over a seat, victim was stabbed near the toilet in the train." The Government Railway Police (GRP) has started the investigation.
Coimbatore (TN) June 22 (ANI): Amid protests by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in the city over water crisis issue in Tamil Nadu, state government conducted Yajna for rain at Patteeswarar temple in Coimbatore. Water Supply Minister S P Velumani was also present in the Yajna.
Baramulla (J and K), Jun 22 (ANI): An exchange of fire broke out between terrorists and security forces in Boniyar area of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Saturday. One terrorist was killed during the encounter. The identity of the terrorist is yet to be ascertained. Massive cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered. This comes after the body of a terrorist was recovered by security forces after an encounter took place on June 11 in Bomai area of Sopore in Baramulla district. The encounter broke out between terrorists and the troops of 177, 179 and 92 Battalion of CRPF, SOG Sopore, 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR).
Mandsaur (MP), June 22 (ANI): In the shocking video, a man was allegedly assaulted over spilling water in a marriage ceremony in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur. He was strangled and forced rub his nose on people's feet. Police registered the complaint. The victim has been missing since the incident.
Surat (Gujarat), June 22 (ANI): Surat-based Stuti Khandwala who hit headlines for clearing four top competitive exams NEET, JEE Main, AIIMS and JIPMER, besides securing a scholarship from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has decided to pursue research in the premier US institute. MIT has extended 90 per cent scholarship to her. She has opted for research on mental illness. While speaking to ANI, Stuti said, "I have secured a 90 per cent scholarship offer from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), I will finally be doing research there for the next 4 years. I want to do research on mental illness, so that I can work for country's upliftment." The 18-year-old student has secured all India rank 10 in AIIMS entrance exam. Stuti had secured 71st rank in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), 27th in JIPMER entrance test and passed JEE Main with 99.91 percentile.

New Delhi, June 22 (ANI): If you were hoping to find a new Pixel Slate making its way this year, you are in for a disappointment as Google has reportedly decided to kill its own tablet lineup. A Google spokesperson told ComputerWorld that the company has decided to drop its work on tablets and focus only on laptops. Google's last release in the tablet category was the Pixel Slate in 2018. The company was rumored to be working on two smaller-sized tablets. However, Google hadn't reached far enough in the development to be impacted by the shutdown of the project.
New Delhi, June 22 (ANI): A man murdered his wife and three children in Delhi's Mehrauli on Saturday morning. The crime was committed by Upendra Shukla. He mercilessly slit throat of his wife and 7-year-old daughter, 5-year-old son and 2- month-old infant. Assailant has admitted to the crime in a written note. Police arrested the man and further investigation is underway.
Bokaro (Jharkhand), Jun 22 (ANI): Bokaro police on Friday arrested two men and recovered a rare snake Red Sand Boa worth Rs 1.6 crore. "We have arrested two men from a hotel here and recovered a rare snake from their possession worth Rs 1.6 crore," the police said. The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Paswan and Md Shahabuddin. "These snakes are mostly found in Maharashtra. People bring it from there and sell it in the international market, especially China. This goes via Nepal. There is an international gang which is involved in such smuggling," a forest officer Surendra Bhagat told ANI. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

Kota (Rajashthan), Jun 22 (ANI): A 12-year-old boy accidentally choked himself to death allegedly while attempting to shoot and upload his video on mobile app Tik Tok, police said on Friday."Initial probe suggests that boy might have killed himself accidentally while trying to make a video for TikTok," police said. The family of the victim said that when they found the boy he was sporting sindoor (vermillion), 'mangalsutra' (a sacred thread worn by Hindu married women) and bangles. He hanged himself from a noose in his bathroom as a part of the TikTok challenge."If it was not for TikTok then my child would have been alive," the father of the boy said. The boy was declared dead upon being brought to the hospital. His body has been shifted in a government hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
Patna (Bihar), Jun 22 (ANI): 'Jan Adhikar Chhatra Parishad' members polished shoes to collect money for children affected due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Bihar's Patna on Friday. AES is characterized by sudden onset of high fever and convulsions. Hundreds of children are admitted to hospitals mostly at Muzaffarpur's SKMCH and privately-owned Kejriwal Hospital. Death toll due to AES rose to 128 in Muzaffarpur.
Shahjahanpur (UP), June 22 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Laxmi Narayan has faced criticism after a government employee was seen tying his shoelace at a yoga event in UP's Shahjahanpur on Friday. While speaking to mediapersons, Narayan defended his actions after a video of the incident went viral, he said, "India was a country where Bharat ruled Lord Ram's kingdom for 14 years with the 'kharau' (wooden slippers) of the latter on the throne. This (the gesture of someone helping him wear his shoes) should be appreciated."
