Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Jun 23 (ANI): In a bid to promote sports in the state, Olympic day run was organised in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla on June 23. The run was organised by the Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association. Over 600 people and others participated in the 4 kilometers long run. The run was also organised to encourage the youth to stay away from drugs. While speaking to ANI, a participant said, "The main objective of run is to encourage more people to participate in games. The run will not only help in improving the environment and ecology of the region but would also help people to keep themselves healthy and stay away from drugs."

Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Jun 23 (ANI): Reacting on roof collapsed outside the ICU of Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Bihar's Muzaffarpur, Superintendent Dr Sunil Kumar Shahi said, "It's an old building, it's not inside any ward but around the veranda area. PICU is in between ward number 6-7 but the patch fall between ward numbers 5-6." 110 people have died due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) at the hospital.
Siddipet (Telangana), Jun 23 (ANI): At least 40 stray dogs were allegedly killed and buried by the Siddipet Municipal Corporation. Joel Davis, Commissioner, Siddipet said, "Case has been registered under relevant sections; we are yet to recover bodies of the dogs, further investigation underway." Several hundred dogs were poisoned to death allegedly on the orders of Siddipet municipality.

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), June 23, ANI: The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) of Jammu and Kashmir organised a workshop in Srinagar. The aim was to revive and preserve the importance of Kashmiri art and to boost the overall artisan community of Srinagar. The workshop was conducted because the handicraft products play a vital role to generate employment in the state. With the help of handicraft products the cultural and traditional activities are still alive in the valley but presently the artisan community is facing hardships due to the lack of good infrastructure along with basic facilities to nourish their art. The workshop included administrators, artisans, policy makers and representatives of design schools and civil society associated with the promotion and restoration of art and craft who shared their thoughts on the topic.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), June 23 (ANI): Japanese textile designers Chiaki Maki and Parva Tanaka have laid deep roots of Japanese tradition in India by collaborating with the Indian artisans and manufacturing traditional hand-woven Japanese outfits in Dehradun. Chiaki and Parva started working with the Indian artisans and opened their own work station in 2017, Ganga Maki Textile Studio in Bhogpur, Uttarakhand. Rakesh Singh is the Indian director for their textile studio. Beautiful and distinctive Japanese outfits are manufactured in their studio with the help of hardworking weavers and artisans, putting in their efforts to produce authentic outfits. Currently, about 50 workers, including, 10 weavers, five tailors, women workers for various hand-woven tasks, caretakers, and farmers are working at Ganga Maki Textile Studio. They conduct exhibitions twice a year, displaying their hand-woven outfits for the visitors.

Jhabua (MP), Jun 23 (ANI): A police official allegedly committed suicide in Madhya Pradesh's Jhabua on Sunday. According to the Jhabua Assistant Superintendent of Police Vijay Dabar, the police official hung himself in his room. Police have also found a suicide note in which the deceased police official mentioned that he had a depression that he was not technically sound and he also mentioned about debt of the home. Police are investigating the matter from all aspects.

Vadodara (Gujarat), Jun 23 (ANI): A 13 feet long crocodile was rescued from a pond by the Forest Department in Gardhia village, nearly 80 km away from Vadodara, today. While speaking to ANI, Nitin Patel, Forest Department official said, "We have rescued a 13 feet long crocodile weighing 400 kg, we will release him later."
Hyderabad (Telangana), June 23 (ANI): Rehana Begum from Hyderabad, who was allegedly trafficked to Kuwait by an agent has been rescued, speaking to ANI, she said "Earlier an agent has approached me and offered a beautician job in Kuwait. After going there five months ago they employed me as house maid and started torturing me."She further added, "Finally I was rescued from Kuwait with the help of Indian embassy and returned back to India. I would like to thank Indian Embassy and central government for rescuing me from the hell." Cases of duping people on the pretext of offering jobs in Middle Eastern countries are on the rise.

Vaishali (Bihar), Jun 23 (ANI): Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP) MP Pashupati Kumar Paras from Hajipur reached Bihar's Harivanshpur village today and distributed medicines. Families who lost their children to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) were compensated with Rs 5000 each. Villagers on 22 June put up 'missing' banners of Union Minister of Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan and MP Pashupati Kumar Paras in Harivanshpur village. The posters read 'Whosoever will find Ram Vilas Paswan will get Rs 15,000.'
