Mumbai (Maharashtra), Mar 30 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices traded weak during early hours on Monday in line with Asian peers as fears mounted over the rising cases of coronavirus and economic impact of lockdown in most parts of the world. At 10:15 am, the BSE SandP Sensex was down by 575 points or 1.93 per cent to 29,241 while the Nifty 50 edged lower by 178 points or 2.06 per cent to 8,482. Except for Nifty IT and pharma, all sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty auto down by 4.1 per cent, metal and realty by 3.4 per cent each, PSU bank by 2.4 per cent and financial service by 2.9 per cent. Among stocks, Bajaj Finance was the top loser after clocking a loss of 9.04 per cent to Rs 2,312.60 per share. Mahindra and Mahindra fell by 6.5 per cent, Eicher Motors by 6.3 per cent, Maruti Suzuki by 4.3 per cent and Bajaj Auto by 4.2 per cent. Noida landlord waive rent of his 50 tenants amid coronavirus lockdown

Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 30 (ANI): A resident of Uttar Pradesh's Barola village has waived off the rent of his 50 tenants amid coronavirus outbreak. Kushal Pal is requesting them not to leave their residences or go back to their native place amid COVID-19 pandemic. He also provided 5 kg packets of flour to all his tenants, driver and security guard. While speaking to ANI, Kushal Pal said, "Everyone should do this. We should help people in such tough times. I have 50 tenants and the rent would have been around Rs 1.50 lakh but I waived it off for this month." "I have also given 5 kg packets of flour to my security guard, my driver and the domestic helper," he added. There are total 65 positive cases of coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh. COVID-19: CM Yogi transfers Rs 611 crore to bank account of 27.5 lakh UP workers under MNREGA scheme

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 30 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired meeting with officials in Lucknow on March 30. CM Yogi Adityanath transferred Rs 611 crore directly to the bank account of 27.5 lakh workers of the state, under MNREGA scheme, in the light of coronavirus lockdown. The CM also talked to them through video-conferencing informing them about the scheme. There are total 75 positive cases of coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in India rose to 1071 (including 942 active cases, 99 cured/discharged cases and 29 deaths).

COVID-19 outbreak: Delhi school providing temporary shelter to migrant workers

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): A school has been converted to a temporary shelter home by government to accommodate homeless and migrant workers amid coronavirus lockdown. Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Delhi's Ghazipur is providing temporary shelter to migrant workers. While speaking to ANI, the volunteer of Delhi Civil Defence, Shailendra Kumar Nirala said, "There are around 400 people here. They are from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Haryana. These people were waiting at Anand Vihar Bus Terminal to leave Delhi. We motivated them and asked them to stay here." "All arrangements have been made for them," he added. There are total 49 positive cases of coronavirus in Delhi. Coronavirus outbreak: Delhi breathes easy amid lockdown, air quality in 'good' category

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): India is currently under the biggest lockdown with around 130 crore people asked to stay home in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The national capital recorded dip in pollution level as the air quality is in 'good' category on March 30. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data and System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), major pollutants in Delhi's Lodhi Road area were PM 2.5 at 31 and PM 10 at 43 both in 'good' category. Under the 'good' category, pollution is considered to be at the lowest and the air is believed to be the healthiest to breathe. The government has urged people to avoid unnecessary travelling, significantly reducing the traffic movement across the country.
