Terrible consequences of CAA on India's foreign relations: Shashi Tharoor

New Delhi, Dec 15 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor launched a scathing attack on central government for implementing Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) across the state. In his statement, Tharoor said that Citizenship Amendment Act affects India's foreign relations. "The people in the govt have the nasty habit of demonising any dissent as anti-national. They have no other records. They are not prepared to understand that their decisions are anti-national. We have the democratic right to protest. We are seeing violence and major destruction of property. This was a completely unnecessary decision by the govt. The consequences even for our foreign relations have been terrible. The Japanese PM cancelled his trip. Bangladeshi ministers have cancelled their trips. The entire country is wondering why we must repeatedly be the subject to the whims and fancies of an irresponsible and inapt government," said Tharoor.
