Kolkata, Oct 14 (ANI): Nirmala Banerjee, mother of Abhijit Banerjee who was awarded Nobel Prize 2019 for Economics along with his wife Esther Duflo and USA's Michael Kremer expressed her happiness. While talking to ANI, She said, "I am very happy". Indian-born economist Abhijit Banerjee, his French-American wife Esther Duflo and the US' Michael Kremer were awarded the Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences for their experimental approach to alleviate global poverty.
Patna (Bihar), Oct 14 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chaired a high-level meeting on water logging in Patna. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi. Meeting was held after devastating flood that ravaged part of Bihar's capital earlier this month.

"Congress is levelling allegations against our PM since 5 years. Bengaluru, Oct 14 (ANI): All India Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Trade Unions Co-ordination Committee on Monday started its indefinite strike for 'fair and early settlement of wage revision of the employees'. They are making efforts to avert strike at all of its 9 locations across the country over 'wage settlement 2017'. Speaking to ANI, General Secretary of Hindustan Aeronautics Employees Association (HAEA) Suryadevara Chandrashekhar said, "The HAL executives have taken a gross hike of 35 per cent and 110 per cent to 140 per cent in perks and we are just demanding parity."

Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman and former BCCI member Rajeev Shukla informed that former Indian skipper has been selected as new BCCI president. New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): On being asked about the steps taken by Finance Ministry to safeguard depositors of Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank, Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman said, "I have had word with the Governor of Reserve Bank on the PMC matter because eventually, it is Reserve Bank-appointed resolution professional, who is going to deal with it. The RBI repeatedly has assured me, even today the Governor has assured me that he'll keep the interest of customers in mind and at the earliest try to resolve it as he goes on. You also know that ED has confiscated quite a lot of property." She further said, "The fact remains that the government has been on its toes in terms of bringing the assets of promoters of the bank"
New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): National Investigation Agency (NIA) Inspector General Alok Mittal on October 14 said that in three cases related to Agency's ISIS cases, the cases accused have admitted that they were radicalised by Sri Lanka bombing mastermind Zahran Hashim's videos. The three cases were from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. "Hashim as we know is the mastermind of the Easter day bombings in Sri Lanka," said Mittal.

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman met Chief Managing Directors (CMDs) of Public Sector in Delhi on October 14. She reviewed the fund flow to stressed MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) sector. While speaking to CMDs, Sitharaman assured Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that their due amount, owned by other companies will be cleared before this Diwali. She said, "The Corporate Affairs Ministry has a complete list of companies which stated that they owe MSMEs nearly Rs 40,000 crores. Secretary corporate affairs and Secretary banking will ensure that the data, in desegregated form, is given to these banks. The banks then shall make an attempt to approach all of these MSMEs and ask them if want a bill discounting because that is openly claimed by the companies. Srinagar, Oct 14 (ANI): Postpaid mobile services have finally been restored in Srinagar on October 14. Locals can now easily connect with the near and dear ones. The decision to resume the services was taken after reviewing the situation in the Valley as per told by Principal Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Rohit Kansal. One of the locals said, "We had faced problems in these 70 days. We were not able to connect with our brothers who live far away from us. We were incomplete without the phones." Other local said, "We are really happy that mobile services have finally resumed as we were not able to connect with our loved ones." All network and landline connections were suspended across Jammu and Kashmir on August 05 after abrogation of Article 370.

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Chiefs of proscribed organizations and top separatist leaders from Jammu and Kashmir have been apprehended and chargesheeted under the terror funding case, informed National Investigation Agency (NIA) Inspector General Alok Mittal. He also highlighted that none of the arrested chiefs and separatist leaders got bail so far. "They were being funded from Pakistan High Commission, through remittances and hawala transfers," Mittal added. The NIA IG was addressing the gathering during an inaugural session of the national conference of Chiefs of ATS.

Minister of States for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, National Investigation Agency (NIA) DG YC Modi, former IB Special Director and Nagaland Governor RN Ravi were present at the event. Speaking at the event, NIA DG, Yogesh Chander Modi said, "We noticed that Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) increased their activities in Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka. Names of 125 suspects have been shared with related agencies."

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): National Investigation Agency (NIA) Inspector General Alok Mittal on October 14 said that majority of accused arrested in ISIS cases confessed that they saw Zakir Naik's videos during their radicalisation process. "The majority of the 127 arrested people confessed that during their radicalisation process, they saw Zakir Naik's videos, other videos have also been seen but Zakir Naik's name came on the top," said Mittal. "The local party's leader was in touch with the handler from Afghanistan, Pakistan or Syria, the handler channelised the activity." It is be noted that a chargesheet has been filed against Naik and his extradition request has been sent to Malaysian government regarding the case. The NIA has been investigating the ISIS cases since November 2014. Total 28 cases have been investigated and 127 people have been arrested.
New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval attended the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) national conference of Chiefs of Anti-Terrorism Squad/Special Task Force in Delhi on October 14. Speaking at the event on challenges of terrorism, Doval said the proceedings of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) have created immense pressure on Pakistan, and is bigger than any action that could be taken against the rogue nation. "One of the biggest pressures that has come on Pakistan today is because of the proceedings of Financial Action Task Force (FATF), it has created so much pressure on them that probably no other action could have done," Doval said. Further speaking on state's role in curbing terrorism, Doval said "If a criminal has the support of a state, it becomes a great challenge. Some of the states have mastered this, in our case Pakistan has made it as an instrument of its state policy."
