GOC Northern Command visits forward posts of LoC in Rajouri's Sunderbani sector

Rajouri (JandK), Sep 14 (ANI): General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, Lt General Ranbir Singh visited forward posts of LoC in Sunderbani sector of JandK's Rajouri on September 14. He visited JandK to take the stock of the security situation along the LoC. Earlier, Indian Army neutralised two Pakistani soldiers in retaliation to ceasefire violation. Pakistani soldiers approached with a white flag to take over the bodies. While speaking to ANI, GOC of Northern Command said that all infiltration attempts along LoC have been foiled. "By our caliberated and proactive approcah, we have been able to attain complete moral ascendancy over the enemy. All infiltration attempts along LoC have been foiled. There are a large numbers of leaders across LoC to instigate people of PoK. It's actually trying to use them as cannon fodder for attempts to come close to LoC. Should there be any misadventure, they shall be given a befitting response."

Former KCF chief welcomes Centre's decision on black list over post-militancy 'adverse list'

Gurdaspur (Punjab), Sep 14 (ANI): Former chief of Khalistan Commando Force, Wassan Singh Zaffarwal welcomed the Centre's decision over post-militancy 'adverse list'. "I appreciate Centre's decision, now people whose name has been removed from adverse list will be able to come back to Punjab and take part in 550th anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Zaffarwal said in a video. He also urged central govt to release Sikh prisoners who completed their sentence. At least 312 Indian-origin Sikhs living in foreign countries have been removed from a Ministry of Home Affairs "adverse list", enabling them to apply for Indian visa and visit the country on September 13.

Inflation under control, there are signs of revival of industrial production: FM Sitharaman

New Delhi, Sep 14 (ANI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed a press conference in New Delhi on Saturday (September 14) afternoon and said that while the inflation is under control, there are signs of revival of industrial production in the first quarter of 2019-20 and up to July-end. The finance minister added that annual fixed interest rates are going upwards and even the first quarter of 2019-20 shows clear positive upward growth. She also revealed the plans to meet chiefs of public sector banks on September 19. FM Sitharaman also announced that All Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS) will discontinue after December 31, 2019.

This 'Daadi' from Coimbatore sells idlis for just Re 1

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Sep 14 (ANI): Age is just a number and 82-year-old 'Daadi' M Kamalathal is a perfect example for it. At this age, most people get retired and take rest at home. But this 'Daadi' is still working and earns money for her livelihood. She wakes up early and starts making idlis in order to fulfil her daily needs. Since, Kamalathal lives alone and does not have any family members, she sells around 400-500 idlis daily at Re 1 each. She resides in Coimbatore's Vadivelampalayam village. Kamalathal uses firewood stoves to cook idlis. A video of her went viral after which Government issued her an LPG connection.

This Odisha man helps underprivileged in qualifying MBBS entrance

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Sep 14 (ANI): A resident of Odisha's Bhubaneswar, Ajay Bahadur Singh is teaching 19 students from poor families in the current batch to help them crack the NEET exam in order to qualify for admission in medical colleges. 47-year-old Singh's initiative is modeled along the lines of 'Super 30', a record-setting program run by the acclaimed mathematician Anand Kumar. Like 'Super 30', his efforts have also proved successful in past, as 14 students from his 2018-19 batch, cracked the NEET exam this year. Earlier in 2018, 18 out of 20 students qualified for the exams. Singh wanted to become a doctor but he couldn't fulfil his dream. So, instead, he started 'Zindagi' foundation in 2017 to help the underprivileged students, who aim to become doctors. Dialogues, punches entertain audience in 'Dream Girl'

Mumbai, Sep 14 (ANI): 'Dream Girl' stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Nushrat Bharucha and Annu Kapoor in lead roles. The movie was released in theatres on September 13 and witnessed a good opening day. While speaking to media, one of the moviegoer said, "I liked the movie very much and the best part was its dialogues and punches. The songs of movie were very average but I loved the light hearted film." Meanwhile, another moviegoer added, "The comedy in the movie is really fantastic. Situation, dialogue and one line punches were all good. All the actors have performed phenomenally in the movie." The movie is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa in which Ayushmann is playing the role of a guy who can talk in woman's voice.

People queued up at RTO in Noida after implementation of Motor Vehicles Act

Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 14 (ANI): Long queues were seen at the Region Transport Office (RTO) in Uttar Pradesh's Noida on September 13. Queues were seen after implementation of new Motor Vehicles Act. While speaking to ANI, RTO officer said, "Earlier, people used to get a time slot for the driving license after 4-5 days. Now, they are getting it after a month." From higher penalties for driving errors to imprisonment up to one month for racing, speeding and up to six months for offences relating to accidents the new act is bringing back things in order by instilling fear.

The eight-day festival, known as Yenya in Nepalese, is celebrated to honour Indra, the king of heaven and god of rain and harvest, as per the Hindu mythology.
