Kolkata (WB), Aug 26 (ANI): Former President and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee at an event in Kolkata expressed concern over the economy. He said that exports must constitute at least 1/3 of dollar 5-trillion economy. Pranab Mukherjee said, "Exports must constitute the most important segment of our economy. Exports must constitute at least 1/3 of the total worth of the economy (target of USD 5-trillion economy) must come from international trade sectors."

New Delhi, Aug 27 (ANI): Researchers have discovered that raw fruit and vegetables may be better for your mental health than cooked, canned and processed fruit and vegetables. Dr Tamlin Conner, Psychology Senior Lecturer and lead author, said public health campaigns have historically focused on aspects of quantity for the consumption of fruit and vegetables. However, the study published in the journal, 'Frontiers in Psychology,' found that for mental health, in particular, it may also be important to consider the way in which produce was prepared and consumed. "Our research has highlighted that the consumption of fruit and vegetables in their 'unmodified' state is more strongly associated with better mental health compared to cooked/canned/processed fruit and vegetables," said Dr Tamlin Conner. Noida (UP), Aug 26 (ANI): Wife of late Inspector Subodh Singh requested to Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Aditiyanath to cancel the bail of Bulandshahr violence case accused. "This judgement has saddened me. On what basis this judgement has been given. I demand from CM that their bail should be cancelled," Subodh Singh's wife Rajini Singh told ANI. Inspector Subodh Singh lost his life in during Bulandshahr mob violence case. The six accused in the Bulandshahr case were welcomed with garlands after they were released on bail on August 24. Meerut (UP), Aug 26 (ANI): A man was brutally thrashed by furious mob over molestation charges in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. The incident took place when the man allegedly molested a girl in a moving bus. When the bus stopped at a bus stop, victim girl told the incident to her family members, who later started thrashing the man. Police arrested the person and is investigating the matter. The video of thrashing went viral.
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 26 (ANI): The water level of river Ganga has decreased in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi bringing relief from floods. The cleaning work by several teams is underway at various 'ghats' of Varanasi. Earlier, Ganga River had swelled due to heavy rains and had burst into villages across several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Aug 26 (ANI): The ashes of former union finance minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley was immersed in Uttarakhand's Haridwar on August 26. His ashes were immersed in river Ganga by his son Rohan in the presence of several senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' were also present. He passed away in the national capital on August 24 at the age of 66. The veteran leader was cremated on afternoon of August 25 with full state honours in the presence of his family members and leaders from across the political spectrum at Delhi's Nigambodh Ghat.

Police saved the newborn baby girl from a drain, which was backside of a primary school in police line area. Locals informed the police after listening her crying.
