New Delhi, Aug 24 (ANI): If you have been seeing more ads on Instagram this year, you are not alone. Parent company Facebook reportedly instructed Instagram to increase the number of ads in the app towards the end of 2019. According to The Information, Facebook exerted more control over Instagram over the last two years, including the move to rename the app, Mashable reports. Facebook plans to bring Instagram's revenue number closer to its own app, and will heavily rely on commerce to achieve that. Meanwhile, Instagram has been experimenting with in-app shopping features and a standalone shopping app as well.
New Delhi, Aug 23 (ANI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed that all pending GST refunds due to MSMEs till now shall be paid within 30 days from August 23 and in future, the GST refunds to MSMEs will be paid within 60 days. She was addressing a press conference in New Delhi on India's current economy.
New Delhi, Aug 23 (ANI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that from now onwards, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) violations will not be treated as a criminal offence but as civil liabilities. "CSR violations will not be treated as a criminal offence and instead be as civil liabilities. On or after October 01, 2019 all the Income-tax orders, notices, summons, letters, etc. shall be issued through a centralised computer system", said Nirmala Sitharaman while addressing a press conference in New Delhi.

"Despite Delhi government's claims of 'muft jaanch, muft dawaien' I placed the evidence that medicines are prescribed from outside and people are taking loans to purchase medicines. I only wanted assurance from the health minister that government will bear the expense of the medicines. But I was marshaled out of the Assembly," Alka Lamba told the media.
Jaipur (Rajasthan), Aug 23 (ANI): Animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) workers on August 23 held a protest at pink city Jaipur to stop abuse on elephants. To convey their message to people, workers of PETA put elephant mask and held placards with 'Beaten and abused, say no to elephant rides.' PETA chose Jaipur for the protest as Jaipur is famous for its elephant rides. Thousands of tourists flock to the pink city to see the old forts. In the name of rides, mahouts beat and abuse the giant tuskers many times.

"Printing of Jerusalem advertisement at back of Tirupati Bus Sewa ticket is unacceptable to secular people. If these appeasement policies of Jagan government for Christians continues, time isn't far when the people of Andhra Pradesh will send CM and his family to Jerusalem," BJP's Andhra Pradesh co-in-charge, Sunil Deodhar said. North 24 Parganas (West Bengal), Aug 23 (ANI): At least 6 people died after a wall of Loknath Temple collapsed in West Bengal on August 23. The incident took place in Kachua, North 24 Parganas in Kolkata, where people gathered to celebrate Janmashtami. Several people were injured in the incident.
