New Delhi, Aug 19 (ANI): Vehicle movement on 'Loha Pul' (old iron bridge) over the Yamuna River has been stopped. The decision was taken after water in river crossed warning mark. The water level has reached 205 meters (the warning level is at 204.50 meters). Water level in river increased after release of huge amount of water from Hathnikund Barrage in Haryana.
New Delhi, Aug 19 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in the national capital, Secretary of the Eastern Region TS Tirumurti said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on bilateral visits to France, UAE and Bahrain. He will also attend the G7 summit in Biarritz, France from 22nd to 26th August. France is one of the most important strategic partners of India with ties that are comprehensive dynamic and multifaceted."
New Delhi, Aug 19 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in the national capital Secretary of the Eastern Region TS Tirumurti said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be travelling to the UAE and Bahrain from 23-25th August. The official engagements are expected to be on August 24 in Abu Dhabi. PM Modi would receive the Order of Zayed, the highest civil decoration of the UAE which was conferred earlier in April 2019 in recognition of leadership of Prime Minister Modi for giving a big boost to bilateral relations between the two countries."
New Delhi, Aug 19 (ANI): National Security Advisor (NSA), Ajit Doval on Monday met Home Minister Amit Shah in the North Block. Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and other top officials also attended the meeting. This was for the first time that Doval met Amit Shah after his return from the Kashmir Valley, where he stayed for about 10 days and personally monitored the situation.
Bhubaneshwar (Odisha), Aug 19 (ANI): The official residence of BJD's Talcher MLA, Braja Kishore Pradhan was set on fire by a group of unidentified miscreants on August 19. Two cars and one motorcycle gutted in the incident. MLA was not present at the residence during the time of the incident. Bhubaneshwar Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Singh visited the spot today with scientific team.
Jammu, Aug 19 (ANI): Two people got stuck following a sudden increase in water level of River Tawi in Jammu on August 18. Speaking on the rescue operation, Indian Air Force Chief Operations Officer Sandeep Singh said, "We received information at 12 pm that some people needed to be rescued, by 12:29 pm helicopter was here. Our Garud Commandos went down and put a hook on fishermen, 4 people were rescued in a short span of time, the operation was successful."
Shimla (HP), Aug 19(ANI): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur confirmed 22 deaths due to heavy rainfall in last 2 days. As per the update, the death toll in entire monsoon season has risen to 43. "So far a loss of Rs 574 crore has been estimated during the monsoon season due to rain and during the season of monsoon till date," CM Jai Ram Thakur told ANI. Chief Minister said that he is holding a special meeting with the deputy commissioners of the state of different districts through video conferencing and would be monitoring the flood-situation in the region.
New Delhi, Aug 19 (ANI): Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that the water level of Yamuna River is expected to cross the danger mark today in the evening. While addressing the press conference, he said, "Water level (of Yamuna River) is expected to cross the danger mark, today evening. Water can reach here during the next two days with full force, all our officers and ministers are monitoring the situation 24x7."
Mumbai, Aug 19 (ANI): Members of All Indian Cine Workers Association staged protest against singer Mika Singh in Mumbai on August 19. They protested against him for performing in Pakistan's Karachi. AICWA also banned the singer from the Indian Film Industry. The event in Pakistan was organised by former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf's close relative. Mika performed with a 14-member troupe at the pre-wedding ceremony of a girl, whose father, Adnan Asad, is reportedly a cousin of former Pakistan president, General Pervez Musharraf. Mika and his crew have been given visas for 30 days to perform in three cities - Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
Nashik (Maharashtra), Aug 19 (ANI): A hospital in Maharashtra's Nashik took a unique initiative for newborn babies. Bedsheets at Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) are colour-coded according to the days of the week. The step has been taken to ensure that they have been washed and sterilised by autoclave. There are separate mops and buckets for each cubicle as well. One of the doctors of the hospital said, "We use dark green bed-sheets on Monday, dark blue on Tuesday, pink on Wednesday, maroon on Thursday, saffron on Friday, light-green on Saturday and light-blue on Sunday. We don't repeat bed-sheets for infants for even a day."
New Delhi, Aug 19 (ANI): The water level of Yamuna River on Monday morning was flowing at 204.70 meters, higher than the warning mark at 204.50 meters, after the release of huge amount of water from Hathni Kund barrage in Haryana. The "danger mark" is 205.33 meters. The Delhi government has issued order from the evacuation of people from low-lying areas and civil volunteers have been deployed for rescue operations. While speaking to ANI, a Civil Defence Officer said, "We have deployed forces. Our department is ready for rescue operations. We got to know that water has been released from Hathni Kund barrage. We will ensure that people shift to safer places."
Bengaluru, Aug 19 (ANI): A chilling video of a car driving over a crowd of people walking on a pavement in Bengaluru has surfaced showing a drunk driver running over at least 7 pedestrians. The incident took place on a footpath in HSR Layout locality of Bengaluru. Seven people have been injured in the crash while police have taken the errant driver in custody.
Hyderabad, Aug 19 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working president JP Nadda held a door-to-door campaign, as a part of the party's membership drive in Hyderabad on August 19. He went door to door and met locals. Earlier, large number of leaders, including ex-MLAs from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Congress joined the BJP. JP Nadda also welcomed leaders from other parties to strengthen the BJP in Telangana.
Agra (UP), Aug 19 (ANI): Indian cricketer Poonam Yadav brought laurels to her hometown Agra as she was nominated for the prestigious Arjuna Award. There were celebrations at her house in Idgah railway colony after Poonam and 18 other sportspersons were selected for the honour. Daughter of retired army personnel Raghuveer Singh and homemaker Munni Devi, Poonam is employed as office superintendent at Agra division of North Central Railways. She will receive Arjuna Award on the occasion of Sports Day on August 29. Poonam has played 41 one-day international matches and 54 T-20 matches for the Indian women's cricket team. She has claimed 63 wickets in ODIs at an average of 21.09 runs and 74 wickets in T-20s at an average of 14.77 runs. She began her international career in April 2013 playing against Bangladesh in Ahmedabad. Poonam proved her utility as a right arm leg spinner and was part of the world cup final team that lost to England in 2017.
Agartala (Tripura), Aug 19 (ANI): Indian Army and Assam Rifles (AR), the oldest paramilitary force, jointly organised an arms display rally, 'Know Your Army' in Tripura's Agartala. The main motive behind the rally was to motivate the youth to join the defence forces. Large number of people flocked to witness the display rally. With elimination of the militant groups of Tripura to a large extent, the situation has totally changed and the youths in large number are participating for recruitment into the security forces.

The training was organized by the National Oral Health Program under the National Health Mission. More than 50 dentists across the state took part in the training program. Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), Aug 19 (ANI): Schools re-opened in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri on August 19. The decision was taken to not let children suffer. Over 190 schools were closed in the wake of abrogation of Article 370 in parts of Kashmir. Central government scrapped off Article 370 on August 05 that took away the special status of Jammu and Kashmir as a state.

The accident took place near Nimgul village in Maharashtra's Dhule. Locals were the first to reach the spot and pulled some of the passengers off the bus. Shamli (UP), Aug 19 (ANI): Even as the government is leaving no stone unturned in fighting the menace of Triple Talaq, instances in the connection seem to rise. Women in Uttar Pradesh continue to suffer as several cases pertaining to instant divorce have been reported from the state. A women in Kandhla area in UP's Shamli district has alleged that her husband gave her Triple Talaq over the phone earlier this month. While speaking to media, the victim said, "My husband gave me triple talaq over the phone. I have his call recording to prove this. I want justice. He should be punished for the crime."
