Frankfrut (Germany), Aug 11 (ANI): Baloch human rights activist, Ashraf Sherjan has urged Baloch people to wish 'Happy Independence Day' instead of 'Eid Mubarak'. He said, "Because on 11 August 1947, Balochistan was declared as an independent state. Later on 27 March 1948, Pakistan occupied Kalat state at gun point and annexed Balochistan with Pakistan by military force." He further added, "I request my brother and sisters in India please stand and support the people of Balochistan to regain their freedom like the way India help and supported Bangladesh in 1970s.

BJP MP Diya Kumari claims Jaipur's erstwhile royal family descended from Lord Ram's son Kush

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Aug 11 (ANI): Member of Parliament of Bharatiya Janata Party from Rajasthan's Jaipur, Diya Kumari claimed that Jaipur's erstwhile royal family has descended from Lord Ram's son Kush. "I am saying this on basis of manuscripts and documents we have. I said this after Supreme Court (during Ayodhya case) asked if there are any descendants of Lord Ram?" Diya Kumari is the daughter of the last Maharaja of Jaipur, Sawai Bhawani Singh and Padmini Devi.

Day after resigning from Congress, Santiuse Kujur and Gautam Roy join BJP in Guwahati

Confident that terrorism in Kashmir will be finished: Amit Shah on Article 370

Chennai, Aug 11 (ANI): Amidst beefed up security in Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah said, "As a legislator, I firmly believe Article 370 should have been removed long ago. As a Home Minister, there was no confusion in my mind about the consequences of removing Article 370. I am confident that terrorism in Kashmir will finish and it will move ahead on the path of development now." Amit Shah made this statement in Chennai, while addressing a public gathering. On August 05, the government passed a resolution in both the houses to remove provisions of Article 370, which provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Broker kills woman over money dispute in Lucknow

Lucknow (UP), Aug 11 (ANI): A woman was murdered by a broker in Lucknow on August 11 in a manic attack over a suspected money dispute, police said. The man had called the deceased to Bangla Bazar on pretext of resolving the issue and to show her the new property. Both, the accused and the victim, used to work at a firm named Amit Infra Heights. After killing the girl, the accused threw the body of the victim in a river in Raebareli. So far, police have arrested two people and have also seized a car which was allegedly used in the murder. A thorough investigation in the matter is underway.

32 newborns die in 50 days in District Hospital of UP's Badaun

Badaun (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 11 (ANI): 32 infants have lost their lives in the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of Women District Hospital of Uttar Pradesh's Badaun in last 50 days. Chief Medical Officer Manjeet Singh said, "The children who were admitted to SNCU had serious diseases and possibility of their survival was less." Superintendent of District Women Hospital, Budaun, Dr Rekha Rani, said, "This month there has been increase in admission of children and among them some were admitted with multi-organ failure. Around 20 children were treated and discharged."

Eid-ul-Adha: People in Jammu trade at livestock market to buy goat, sheep

Jammu, Aug 11 (ANI): Muslim community will worldwide celebrate 'Bakrid' on August 12 this year. They will celebrate this day by sacrificing a male goat as the symbol of sacrifice. People trade at livestock market to buy goats and sheep ahead of Eid-ul-Adha in Jammu. People are flocking to markets to purchase different varieties of goats. Some premium breeds of these goats and sheep are sold in lakhs of rupees. On this auspicious occasion, Muslims offer Eid-al-Adha prayers at the mosque, sacrifice goats, wear new clothes and greet each other. Later, the Muslim families feast on the goat's meat and also distribute it to the poor and needy people. Eid-al-Adha feast dishes include mutton biryani, mutton keema and bhuni kaleji. Creative man gives makeover to his Nano car, turns it into non-flying helicopter

Chhapra (Bihar), Aug 11 (ANI): Meet Mithilesh, whose economic situation didn't come his way from making a chopper. This man from Bihar's Chhapra modified his Nano car into a non-flying helicopter. He said that it was his dream to make a chopper but due to economic situation, he could not do so. So, instead of making a chopper, he modified his Nano car into one. The car-cum-chopper has been decorated with led lights and has also got wings on the top. The non-flying helicopter's interior is made of iron and the exterior part is made of aluminum. While speaking to ANI, he said, "I always wanted to make a helicopter, now I can't do that because my background is not strong and that's why I have given my car this look."

Maharashtra floods: Incessant rains damages property in Kolhapur, rescue operation on

Sangli/ Kolhapur (Maharashtra), Aug 11 (ANI): The flood situation in Kolhapur and Sangli districts of Maharashtra remained critical. Houses and vehicles are also submerged in Kolhapur district. Flood-water receding in Kolhapur district's Shiroli village is causing severe problem for the locals. Incessant rains have led to damage of property and villagers in Shiroli collect water as flood waters begin to recede. Power supply has been cut in many parts of the district as transformers and feeder pillars were submerged. Teams from Indian Army, Navy, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Coast Guard along with the local authorities continued extensive relief efforts in the affected areas. Relief operations are underway.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: Pilgrims hail facilities provided by India, China in Darchen

Darchen (Tibet Autonomous Region)/ Lipulekh Pass (Indo-China Border), Aug 11 (ANI): The 13th batch of pilgrims for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra lauded the efforts made by India and China for providing basic facilities during the tour. The Indian side has good facilities. Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam has done a good job. The 12th batch of Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims returned to India via Lipulekh Pass on the India-China border after completing the pilgrimage. On the Chinese side, the facilities have improved a lot as compared to the past. The issues like accommodation, food, toilet, and sanitation has improved on both sides. Many pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the food facilities provided during the tour. Pilgrims are getting very good food throughout the yatra. Some of the pilgrims still highlighted concerns regarding sanitation and medical facilities.
