They faced negligence of administration as the shelter home even lacked in providing basic amenities. 2156 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Delhi as of now.
Bankura (West Bengal), Apr 23 (ANI): A teacher from West Bengal's Bankura went up a notch higher to educate students. Subrato Pati has set up his workspace on a tree, so that he can take online classes without network disruptions. His aim is to impart education even in this crucial time of coronavirus pandemic to his students. While speaking to ANI, he said, "We don't get network signals everywhere in our village. I take different classes from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm."
Mumbai, Apr 23(ANI): Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and wife were attacked early in the morning by 2 unknown people while they were driving home from their studios. A police complaint has been registered, details are awaited. Both Arnab and Samyabrata Ray were unhurt in the attack.
New Delhi, Apr 23(ANI): Delhi Police on April 22 has put up banners with the slogan 'Delhi Police Dil Ki Police' on the barricades throughout the national capital. Delhi has so far reported 2156 cases and 47 deaths.
Chandigarh, Apr 22 (ANI): Former Olympian Milkha Singh condemned attacks on COVID-19 frontline warriors. While talking on frontline warriors, the former Olympian also shared his concerns for her daughter Mona Milkha, who is treating COVID-19 patients at a hospital in United States of America. "My daughter Mona Milkha Singh is a doctor in New York. We are very proud of her. She speaks to us daily and asks us to take care ourselves. We are concerned about her but she has to perform her duty," said Former Olympian Milkha Singh.
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 22 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Police has appealed to people of Muslim community to donate in PM-CARES or Chief Minister Relief Fund during Ramzan. Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) SR Mardi on April 22 said, "Prophet Muhammad has said that Muslims should donate 2.5 per cent of their total wealth during 'Ramzan', which is about to begin. So I request our Muslim brothers to feed the poor. They can also donate to PM-CARES or CM Relief Fund in the wake of COVID-19."
Moradabad (UP), Apr 22 (ANI): A doctor, SC Aggarwal, who was injured in an attack on a medical team in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, on Wednesday, welcomed Central Government ordinance brought to end violence against health workers. While speaking to ANI, Aggarwal said, "After this Ordinance by the Centre, incidents of violence against doctors might reduce. The safety of doctors and their families is important."

Former president of Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) Dr. Sumedh Sandanshiv said, "We welcome this step by the Centre. This will boost the morale of doctors and all healthcare staff. This act should be implemented for future also and not just during this pandemic."
Jaipur (Rajasthan), Apr 22 (ANI): Health Minister of Rajasthan, Raghu Sharma on Wednesday said process of recruitment of 2000 doctors has begun as per the announcement of Chief Minister in the last Budget. "We will complete the process in the next one and half months. 735 doctors have recently been recruited and posted in hospitals. Recruitment process of 12500 General Nursing and Midwife and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife had been completed but posting couldn't be done due to some litigations. After consultation with Advocate General, the CM has now given orders for posting of 9000 such staff," he added.
New Delhi, Apr 22 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices rose by 2.4 per cent on Wednesday as index heavyweight Reliance Industries surged by 9.8 per cent with Facebook picking up nearly 10 per cent stake in India's largest private sector company's digital business for 5.7 billion dollars (about Rs 43,574 crore). At the closing bell, the BSE SandP Sensex was up by 743 points or 2.42 per cent at 31,380 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 206 points or 2.29 per cent at 9,187. Except for Nifty pharma, PSU bank and realty, all sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green with Nifty media up by 6.6 per cent, auto by 2.5 per cent and FMCG by 2.4 per cent. Among stocks, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries climbed up by 9.83 per cent to Rs 1,359 per share after Facebook bought 9.9 per cent stake in the company's digital business to expand its presence in India.

Chandigarh, Apr 22 (ANI): Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar informed that 153 people have been cured out of 260 cases of COVID19. "There are 260 cases of COVID-19 in Haryana out of which 153 people have recovered and three died," said Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar. The chief minister also said that 511 tests have been conducted on each 10 lakh people in the State. "Out of 22 districts no case reported in three districts so far", the minister further added.
New Delhi, Apr 22 (ANI): Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar, on April 22 cleared the rumours on resuming the flight operations after May 3. He said no decision has been taken yet on the resumption of flight operations. "An announcement will be made on time as to when it will resume," he added.
New Delhi, Apr 22 (ANI): Central Government on Wednesday brought an ordinance to end violence against health workers amid the coronavirus crisis. While addressing a press conference in Delhi, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar said health workers who are trying to save the country from this epidemic are unfortunately facing attacks, and no such incident of violence or harassment, against them will be tolerated. "An ordinance has been brought in and it'll be implemented after President's sanction. Amendment to be made to Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and Ordinance will be implemented. Such crime will now be cognizable and non-bailable. Investigation will be done within 30 days. Accused can be sentenced from 3 months-5 yrs and penalised from Rs 50,000 up to Rs 2 Lakh," he added.
Bhopal (MP), Apr 22(ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a meeting with cabinet ministers after the allocation of their portfolios. The oath taking ceremony of the MP cabinet ministers was held on April 21. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "Right now, the ministries have been allotted keeping in mind COVID-19 outbreak and the ministries that play an important role in combating it."
New Delhi, Apr 22 (ANI): Ministry of Civil Aviation wing at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan has been sealed in Delhi on April 22 and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has also been asked to sanitize the whole wing. It came after an employee of Ministry who attended office on April 15 has tested positive of COVID-19 on April 21. Ministry of Civil Aviation has taken all necessary protocols to follow on premises. All colleagues who came in contact are also being asked to go for self-isolation as precaution.

New Delhi, Apr 22 (ANI): Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain confirmed 2186 positive cases in Delhi till date. He further informed that 28% patients, total of 611 people have been recovered. He said, "As of today, there are a total of 2186 positive cases in Delhi, 75 of these were found yesterday. A total of 611 people - 28% of the patients, have been recovered. 27 patients are in ICU and 5 on ventilators." On state govt conducting COVID-19 tests of media persons, Health Minister said, "Considering them high at risk, we will be conducting COVID-19 tests for them too, the way we do for our own staff."
Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Apr 22(ANI): Tamil Nadu Congress workers provided relief materials to the needy people in Chennai's Anna Nagar on April 22. People stood in long queues waiting for their turn to get the relief materials. Social distancing norm was avoided during the distribution program, though blocks were made but no one followed it.
