Gadag (Karnataka), Apr 22(ANI): Amid country wide lockdown, people in Gadag are not following lockdown guidelines. People in huge number were seen on market roads on April 22. Social distancing and all precautionary measures of COVID-19 went for a toss. According to the Health Ministry, Karnataka has reported 418 COVID-19 cases. The state has witnessed 17 deaths due to COVID-19 outbreak.
Palghar (Maharashtra), Apr 22(ANI): Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken over the investigation of three FIRs in Palghar lynching incident. The incident took place on the night of April 16, when three men from Kandivali in Mumbai were going in a car towards Surat in Gujarat to attend a funeral. Their vehicle was stopped near a village in Palghar district. The three were dragged out of their car and beaten to death with sticks by a mob on a suspicion that they were thieves. Palghar Police had arrested 101 people in connection with the lynching incident. Two policemen were suspended on April 22 for alleged dereliction of duty.
Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 22 (ANI): In wake of coronavirus, the whole nation is under lockdown currently. Amid it, Madhya Pradesh Police found a unique way to punish lockdown violators. They made people do sit-ups and various other physical exercises on the road, who were wandering without any reason. The nation-wide lockdown will continue till May 03.
Jammu, Apr 22(ANI): Inmates of District Jail Amphalla made masks for distribution among the frontline workers fighting against Covid-19 pandemic. Nearly 500 to 1000 masks are being made by these inmates per day. The designing of this mask has also been done by the inmates, there is proper system in place for the production of these masks. The normal cloth mask is costing the authorities Rs 4, while the medicated ones cost them Rs 12. District Jail Amphalla's Jail Superintendent, Saleem Ahmad Beigh said, "Their commitment towards making the masks makes us believe that these people have a human heart."
Shopian (J and K), Apr 22 (ANI): An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in J and K's Shopian. According to Kashmir Zone Police, 4 unidentified terrorists were killed in the encounter. Arms and ammunition have been recovered from them. The operation is over.

Nashik (Maharashtra), Apr 22(ANI): Amid COVID-19 outbreak and nationwide lockdown, farmers are not able to find labours during harvesting season due to which they are facing huge losses. One of the farmers said, "There is no point of harvesting right now, I have faced Rs 20k loss so far." Maharashtra remained the worst hit state of COVID-19 outbreak. The state has so far reported 5218 coronavirus cases along with 251 deaths.
Mumbai, Apr 22 (ANI): Former chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis requested CM Uddhav Thackeray to follow all the protocols of ICMR for COVID-19 suspected patients. Fadnavis said, "I have written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister that entry of patients is done as 'suspected COVID' but their swab isn't taken on time and after their death, their body is released as 'suspected COVID'. I've also sent 2 case papers to CM. There are around 100 such cases. This might reflect a dip in the number of deaths due to COVID but it raises a lot of questions. If a body is released as a non-COVID body then it is also cremated as a non-COVID. Their family and contacts are neither quarantined nor tested. 44 such bodies were released as suspected COVID-19 from one of the hospitals in Mumbai alone. Chandigarh, Apr 22 (ANI): Troops of 51st Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force prepared food to distribute among the needy amid coronavirus lockdown. They distributed around 200 cooked food packets to labourers and migrants, residing in different areas in Chandigarh. The distribution of food was done in coordination with Chandigarh administration and police.
Panchkula (Haryana), Apr 22 (ANI): Amid COVID-19 outbreak, Haryana government took a step for helping people who are in stress or want to inquire anything during lockdown. Around 55 agents have been hired to solve queries of the residents. The aim is to resolve queries of migrant workers, queries related to ration cards and doctor services. Approximately 900 doctors also volunteered in this initiative to help the needy. The Nodal Officer of Haryana Control Room, Vikas Gupta said, "Government of Haryana has established a call center for residents of Haryana to spread the information related to coronavirus as well as to address the grievances. This helpline number will work 24*7. We have handled more than 1,62,000 calls so far. This helpline will help those who will ask any help in terms of ration, movement, availability of medicines, etc. We immediately help them." 254 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Haryana as of now.
Shopian (J and K), Apr 22 (ANI): An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in J and K's Shopian. According to Chinar Corps of Indian Army, two terrorists killed in the Operation Melahura in Shopian. The operation is still underway. Further details are awaited.
New Delhi, Apr 22 (ANI): Police conducted security checks at Delhi-Noida border on April 22. The traffic movement between Delhi and Noida has been completely closed by GautamBuddha Nagar administration as a preventive measure against COVID-19. Only those rendering essential services with valid passes are allowed to move. One of the police officials said, "Only those with passes, media personnel, doctors, sanitation workers and vehicles carrying fruits or vegetables are being allowed." 15474 active cases of coronavirus have been reported in India as of now.

One of vegetable sellers of Azadpur Mandi said, "If the mandi is not shut down, then situation similar to Italy will be in Azadpur mandi that there will be no place for people to bury." After government lifted lockdown from Azadpur Sabzi Mandi in New Delhi and Byculla Sabji Mandi in Mumbai, people in huge numbers throng the market area sending social distancing norms for a toss.

Panchkula (Haryana), Apr 22 (ANI): Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Manoj Yadava reacted on cops in the state beaten up by locals amid COVID-19 lockdown. He said that such attacks will not be tolerated and police will take stringent action against it. Recently, a head constable and a special police officer were beaten up by people in Nuh as they have asked one of the attackers to remain inside their homes amid the nationwide lockdown.

Islamic Center of India reached people of Lucknow by a vehicle and announced that Muslims should stay at their homes and follow the guidelines given by the government to curb the spread of COVID-19.
New Delhi, Apr 21 (ANI): Amid coronavirus lockdown, Union Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan informed that there will be no shortage of grains as India has surplus stock of 539 lakh tonnes. "We have surplus grains stock of 539 lakh tonnes. There will no shortage in the near future. We have asked all State governments to distribute ration to the poor in their states. GOI has clearly said that no poor should go hungry," said Paswan.
New Delhi, Apr 21 (ANI): Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that 30 lakh more people who don't have ration cards will be given free ration. "Nearly 1 crore people in Delhi are being given free ration," he added.
