Mumbai, Mar 06 (ANI): While addressing during the 15th Annual Banking Summit of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) on March 06 in Mumbai, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das said, "India is much more integrated to global economy than it was 10-20 years ago so it will be impacted to some extent (by coronavirus) but it is not that integrated to global value chain as some other countries, to that extent India remains insulated."
Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 06 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir's Department of Agriculture took a unique step to promote women empowerment in the state. The department is training the women self-help group to cultivate mushroom and making of pickle. Around 20-25 women participated in the initiative. It helped in skill development of these women. One of the officials said, "We have made a group of 20-25 women and we teach various kind of work. This time, we taught them mushroom cultivation so that they can make money out of it. We also taught them the process of making mushroom pickles. "
New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on March 06 said that today India probably takes least possible time in resolving insolvency cases. "Jet Airways is a case where cross border resolutions are happening and we have to be conscious that time bound decision making is important. I was very impressed when (NCLAT Chairman) Justice Mukhopadhaya told me that India today probably takes least possible time in resolving such issues. I am so happy that we could reach this situation with a robust law," said Sitharaman after meeting NCLAT Chairman, Justice Mukhopadhaya.

Tumkur (Karnataka), Mar 06 (ANI): At least 12 people, including women and children, died after a car, in which they were travelling, collided with an SUV in Karnataka's Tumkur district on March 06. The accident took place around 03:00 am near Amruthur police station in Tumkur district. The injured have been rushed to a local hospital and are undergoing medical treatment. An investigation into the matter is underway. More details are awaited.
Mumbai, Mar 06 (ANI): After Reserve Bank of India on Thursday imposed a month-long moratorium on Yes Bank citing 'serious deterioration in its financial position', capping the withdrawal limit at Rs 50000, depositors in Mumbai rushed to the ATMs for withdrawing the cash. During the period of moratorium, the Yes Bank Limited shall not, without the permission in writing of the Reserve Bank of India, make payment to a depositor of a sum exceeding Rs 50,000 lying to his credit, in any savings, current or any other deposit account.

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices tumbled during early hours on March 06 after another overnight steep fall on Wall Street with banking stocks seen coming under pressure after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) placed Yes Bank under a moratorium and took over its board. At 10:15 am, the BSE S-P Sensex was down by 1,036 points or 2.69 per cent to 37,435 while the Nifty 50 dived by 306 points or 2.72 per cent at 10,963. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty PSU bank down by 5 per cent, private banks by 4.5 per cent, metal by 4.2 per cent and realty by 3.8 per cent. Among stocks, Yes Bank crashed by 29.89 per cent to Rs 25.80 per share after the RBI said it is superseding the board of troubled private sector lender with immediate effect.

The Directorate of Health Services of Kashmir has set up isolation facility at Sant Nagar in Srinagar with capacity of 10 new beds as part of preparation for coronavirus prevention. The suspected passengers arriving at the Srinagar airport, will be directly brought for the screening to stop the virus from spreading. This center has proper facility of screening, 24-hours medical staff and latest equipments. The in-charge of Sant Nagar Isolation Center, Dr Navida said, "This is an isolation ward and patients will only be isolated here. We won't test them here. We'll send them to lab for the tests and accordingly, treatment will happen then. New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): The World Health Organization (WHO) said that it had registered 2,241 new confirmed cases of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) worldwide within the past 24 hours, with 84 people having died, which brought the total death toll to 3,282. In China, death toll due to coronavirus has risen to 3,042. The whole number of people, who were diagnosed with COVID-19, has reached 95,333 including 80,565 people in China. COVID-19 was first detected in China's Wuhan in late December and has since spread across the world. In late January, the WHO declared a global health emergency in light of the epidemic.
