Mumbai, Feb 16 (ANI): Several Mumbaikars rode cycle to raise awareness about mental health. Mpower organised a cycle rally for this cause on February 16. The founder and Chairperson of Mpower Neeraj Birla started this initiative. Maharashtra's Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray was also present during the event. Ride to power is an initiative by Mpower which is a movement aimed at spreading awareness and challenging stigma experienced by people with mental health problems. Neerja Birla aims to bring together all the fitness aficionados to spread awareness about mental health by pledging and supporting the mental health cause. This was the fifth edition of Ride to power.
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off IRCTC's Maha Kaal Express through video link on February 16. He will also unveil a 63-foot tall statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya Memorial Centre in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi. PM Modi will inaugurate over 30 projects, including a 430-bed super specialty government hospital at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and a 74-bed psychiatry hospital at BHU.
New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Preparations are underway for swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal in the national capital on February 16. Kejriwal will take oath as the CM of Delhi for the third time today. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) party had won 62 of 70 seats in Delhi Assembly elections on February 11. The oath taking ceremony will take place at Delhi's Ramlila Ground.
Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Feb 16 (ANI): While addressing a public gathering in Madhya Pradesh's Indore on February 15, the former general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and veteran party leader Digvijaya Singh spoke about Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He said, "In Indian Constitution, no decision is taken on the basis of religion. Our main objection against CAA is that they (BJP) are trying to divide the communities on the basis of their religions. 'Atithi Devo Bhava' is culture of India and we welcome all on that basis."
Amritsar (Punjab), Feb 16 (ANI): The first sniffer dog training centre for canines of the Customs Department was started at Attari in Amritsar on February 14. The training centre is named as 'Customs K-9 Centre'. Currently 11 sniffer dogs are being trained at the centre.
New Delhi Feb 16 (ANI): In a recent study, researchers have come up with a potential health strategy to combat fatty liver disease. They have found that a combination of green tea extract and exercise reduced the severity of the obesity-related disease by 75 per cent in mice fed a high-fat diet. In the study, mice fed a high-fat diet for 16 weeks that consumed green tea extract and exercised regularly by running on a wheel were found to have just a quarter of the lipid deposits in their livers compared to those seen in the livers of a control group of mice. Mice that were treated with green tea extract alone or exercise alone had roughly half as much fat in their livers as the control group. In addition to analyzing the liver tissues of mice in the study researchers also measured the protein and fat content in their faeces. They found that the mice that consumed green tea extract and exercised had higher faecal lipid and protein levels.

Varanasi (UP), Feb 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a congratulatory letter to a rickshaw puller in Varanasi. The rickshaw puller named Mangal Kevat had invited PM Modi to his daughter's wedding. In response, PM Modi wrote a letter in which he has sent his blessings and best wishes for the bride. After receiving PM Modi's letter, Kevat family was overjoyed. While speaking to ANI, Mangal Kevat said, "PM Modi is my god and guru, so I had sent first card of my daughter's marriage to PM. We have got his letter and we are overjoyed."
Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Feb 16 (ANI): Speaking at a gathering in Ahmedabad, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday expressed his concern about "violence and dissatisfaction" in the society. He said, "World came closer but in the process, 2 World Wars took place and threat of a 3rd is looming. It's said that the 3rd one is underway in a different form. There's violence and dissatisfaction. Everyone is agitating - owners, workers, govt, public, students, teachers."
Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Feb 15 (ANI): After Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath retorted to Jyotiraditya Scindia's threat of taking to streets if the government is unable to fulfill the promises, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said that Scindia is not against anyone. He said, "Promise letter is for 5 years. We have fulfilled many promises and fulfillment of other promises is underway. Scindia ji is not against anybody, Congress party is together under leadership of Kamal Nath ji."

The 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally was flagged off by Congress leader KTS Tulsi. Cars from different eras participated in the rally. Bullet Nose Studebaker, 1932 MG J2 and 1921 Fiat Corsa were among the vintage cars put on display during the 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally at India Gate. 1923 Lanchester 40 HP Tourer and 1921 Fiat Corsa also put on display during the rally.
Dharamshala (HP), Feb 15 (ANI): A majestic walk by Students for a Free Tibet (SFT-India) was held to commemorate the 107th anniversary of declaration of Tibetan Independence Day by 13th Dalai Lama in 1913. Street parade was held in Dharamshala. Students dressed in traditional attire participated in the march.

Bhopal (MP), Feb 15 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Minister and Congress leader Govind Singh said that 'Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojna' should be scrapped as it was not the government's job to conduct religious pilgrimages. "Conducting religious pilgrimages is not the government's job, although no decision on it has been taken by the government, but it is my personal opinion. Giving facilities to devotees, helping them is alright but organising pilgrimages on government funds is not correct as per me. The pilgrimage should be conducted on the money earned by the people themselves," Singh told ANI.
Chennai, Feb 15 (ANI): A scuffle broke out between police and protestors at Washermanpet in Chennai on February 14. Scuffle broke at the time, when people staged protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). More than 100 protestors have been detained.
New Delhi, Feb 14 (ANI): Children of mothers who experience physical violence tend to miss more school, suggests a study. The study found that 23.3 percent of women who experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) reported their child's school attendance was disrupted. The study used baseline data from a sub-sample of 659 women in Mexico City who recently experienced IPV and reported having a child under age 18. Researchers identified four distinct classes of IPV experiences: Low Physical and Sexual Violence, Low Physical and High Sexual Violence, High Physical and Low Sexual Violence and Injuries, and High Physical and Sexual Violence and Injuries.
Chennai, Feb 15 (ANI): People staged protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Pudupet in Chennai on February 14. Protestors raised slogans and also held placards. Protests have been going on in various parts of the country against the newly amended citizenship law since December last year.
New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Facebook has quietly launched a new app called Hobbi that is aimed at helping you organise your creative projects. Similar to Pinterest, Hobbi lets you save photos of the projects you are working on, such as DIY, arts and crafts, baking, or home decor. You can also save your visual collections, create highlight videos, and share your progress, according to the app's description on the App Store. Hobbi is currently available only in select markets. It has been developed by Facebook's NPE team that builds experimental products.
New Delhi, Feb 14 (ANI): Workers of Indian Youth Congress staged a protest outside Petroleum Ministry at Delhi's Shastri Bhawan against surging cooking gas prices on February 14. To highlight government's attention, protestors made rotis from dried dung cakes instead of using gas. They also showed placards to draw centre's attention on rising inflation. Non-subsidised LGP gas price on February 12 was hiked by Rs. 144.5 per cylinder due to spurt in benchmark global rates of the fuel.
