He said, "Let religion not be made criteria for citizenship. Let's not spoil India's image of unity in diversity. Don't isolate a religion or community." "We are not targeted now but we could be in future. We are also a minority and it could happen to any of us," Archbishop added.

Assembly polls: Delhi masses feel governance model of AAP, says CM Kejriwal

New Delhi, Jan 09 (ANI): Ahead of Delhi Assembly elections, while addressing a press conference in the national capital on January 09, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal spoke on model of governance. He said, "People listen on television and watch on social media and newspapers about what all is happening in Delhi but on the other side the masses of Delhi on an everyday basis feel the governance model." "Residents of national capital gave responsibility of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Delhi Police to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for doing good work and on the contrary they gave responsibilities of schools, water, hospital, electricity and others to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)," he added. "Now, they have two model of governance in front of them and in the coming polls (on February 08) they will have to decide that for Delhi and country which model of governance is better," CM Kejriwal further stated.

'Queen of Hills' looks breathtaking as covered with snow

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Jan 09 (ANI): Queen of Hills, Shimla is covered with layer of beautiful white snow. Rooftops, trees, cars, roads are covered with snow. In eight districts of the state, snow ranging between one to five feet had accumulated at different locations till yesterday. Shimla looked breathtaking in the cold weather. Temperature has dipped down several degrees in the 'Queen of Hills'. Temperature here is recorded at -2C. Normal lives also got affected and roads are blocked in the hilly region.

PM Modi meets top economists ahead of Union Budget

Gangster Ejaz Lakdawala's daughter gave information about him: Joint CP of Mumbai Police

Mumbai, Jan 09 (ANI): Gangster Ejaz Lakdawala was arrested from Patna by Mumbai Police's anti extortion cell on Jan 08. He is remanded to police custody till January 21 by Court. Speaking on Ejaz Lakdawala's arrest, Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Santosh Rastogi said, "Ejaz Lakadwala's daughter was in our custody since December 28. She gave a lot of information to us. Our sources also told us about his arrival in Patna, he was arrested in Jattanpur Police Station limits. On the basis of this information, with the help of Bihar Police, we countercheck him and for verification, we brought him here in Mumbai. On Jan 08 at 10:30 pm, we arrested him in Mumbai."

World Bank pegs India's growth at 5pc in FY20, projects recovery next year

New Delhi, Jan 09(ANI): The World Bank has projected India's growth at 5% in the current financial year 2019-20 which is set to recover to 5.8% in the following fiscal year. Mumbai, Jan 09 (ANI): Gangster Ejaz Lakdawala was arrested from Patna by Mumbai Police's anti extortion cell on Jan 08. He is remanded to police custody till January 21 by court. Speaking on it, Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Sanjay Barve said, "Gangster Ejaz Lakdawala, who used to do extortion call to give threats to people, is arrested by Mumbai City Crime Branch in Patna. We presented him before the court today. He is remanded to police custody till January 21 by Court. We have 25 cases in Mumbai city and we have contacted various units in Maharashtra as well as other states to find out how many all cases are out there in total. We are collecting the information on it."

Former CM Raman Singh's PA arrested for sexually assaulting minor

Equity indices trade higher amid easing geopolitical tensions

New Delhi, Jan 9 (ANI): Equity benchmark parameters edged higher during early hours on Jan 09. This came after the remarks by US President Donald Trump that eased fears of a larger conflict with Iran. AT 10:15 am, BSE SandP Sensex was up by 404 points to 41,221 while Nifty 50 ticked up by 126 points at 12,151. Except for Nifty IT which dipped slightly, all sectoral indices were in the positive zone. Nifty PSU bank gained by 1.97 per cent each, realty by 1.85 per cent and metal by 1.27 per cent.
